Lazies (Thursday)

I was going to upload this a while ago, but I got the lazies.
So, yeah. I was playing a game when the power went out and none of my progress got saved. That was about my face right then.
Sorry about the sketchyness of the whole thing (and the handwriting, was rushing a bit), but I didn't feel the need to clean it up.
I still have the lazies.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! (Monday)

Yes, I know it's not Christmas, but it's still the season... I guess.
I have no arts for you today. I sorry. I got two video games for Christmas and am currently trying to rot my brain straight out of my skull. (For the record, I got Pokepark; Pikachu's Adventure and Epic Mickey. Woot!)

Sorry (Tuesday)

Haven't gotten Jenna's request done.
Sorry, been shopping.
But I have an idea.
And I wish I had a bigger notebook to draw it in, but I'm wanting to get some marker paper after Christmas, so I can do some of the sketchwork and finish it later.
Not much else to say...

Request 1 (Saturday)

Here's your request, Ashley. Hope you like it.

And thank you all SO much. For all the wonderful feedback on my picture yesterday. You gave me so much support and it just makes me want to draw more and more.
...
You're a practicing imbecile if you think I was serious just then.
Honestly?
I got better responses from a THIRD GRADER.
So what? She thought the kissing picture was gross, but hey, she's in third grade, boys still have cooties.
But still, her reaction to my drawings made me really want to draw more.
-.-
If I made you feel bad; too bad.
You have every option to not read this blog.
If I've offended you.
Your fault, you took offense.

From now on, please show support for the artist, regardless of who they are and what they've drawn.
It keeps us artists.

As Promised... (Friday)

Here's the sweetness I promised you. Go rot your teeth out.
(Wow, back-to-back posts? I'm obviously on break.)
Sissy's off at a wedding, being bridesmaidey. And I'm here wondering what I should draw (or eat) next.
ALERT!
ALERT!
I'm taking requests!
Not all requests can be done, but I'm sure I can do some between eating and replaying video games.
I am willing to do stuff like this, but I cannot guarantee that it will look this good. (Kisses are some of the hardest things to draw.)
Just for the record, girls almost always come out ok, guys notsomuch.
PLEASE; do not make your requests very detailed. Give me an idea and let me run with it. It always comes out better that way. (For the record, I gave a girl, who requested a cake, a portrait of her as a cake... so don't limit to "normal." :) )
If you do make a request, it will be scanned here and the original will go to you (unless you don't want it, which is fine).
Once school starts back requests will close.

Christmas Time Is Here... (Friday)

... Jazzed-up carols everywhere...

Long time no post.
Sorry. I've been making Christmas presents. And fretting. About everything. Play tonight and tomorrow night, art contest (monday, I believe), and math final.
So, yah.
...
I got a new notebook. It's much smaller. Fits in my purse. :) Good stuff.
I'm also entering a black and white piece in the contest. Last-minute, but I really want to see how it does. Regardless of how it goes, I'm hanging it on my wall. It's really too cute to just put away. I'll take a picture of it once it's up. And I'm liking my polychromatic less and less. I just know I could do better. But anything I really like doesn't finish well or is too dark to enter into this school's competition.
-.-
Bah, I need to work on gifts.
I'll try to post some festive things before Christmas. My schedule's about to free up big time, so expect art.

Rant (Wednesday)

(Feel free not to read, I just feel like ranting. No arts today.)

I was poking around art sites were people can post anything. Photos (good or bad) drawings, paintings, digital (*coughcheatingcough*) art, and writings of all sorts. I came across a rather interesting writing.
A note.
To a person whom the writer had a problem with.
It wasn't that well written and used a few blunt, ugly words. (Anyone with a brain can insult without cursing, honestly.) Although, it wasn't the writing that really got me going. It was the comments; left by other artists.
Out of the many agreeing comments, one stood out for me.

"Such spite is awesome."

They said this.
In all honesty.
How?
Hate rips your soul and eats away at your mind until nothing is left to deter you from itself.
Awesome indeed.
Feel free to agree with the writer, I have nothing against those with opinions, as long as you don't declare mine wrong because of what you think.
But really? Spite; a thing to love?
To what lows has our society stooped that so ugly a thing as hatred is a thing to be admired?
But why seek the sun when so many stand with you in the rain?
Chase rainclouds and expect rainbows.
Really?
Happiness cannot be found in anger, hate, or sorrow. It is only found when we endure the rain and rejoice in the light that follows.

That's it.

Blergh (Monday)

I'm sick.
I feel terrible.
Artwork will be out of order until illness passes out for the most part.
Once my stomach settles I'll get back on the meds. In the meantime, I'll be having soup stuffs.
I hope none of you guys get sick, or I'll try not to get you sick.

P.S. Check this out! Looks familiar, no? Except mine is more friendly and less card-oriented. :) I found it neat, anyways.

PUPPIES!!!!! (Wednesday)

Now that Cassie's home, I can tell you all the big news!
WE GOT TWO PUPPIES!!!!!
A boy and a little girl.
He's all white with brown eyes that have a splotch of blue in each. And she's gold and white with blue eyes. Brother and sister. They're an unknown mix, but we're thinking they have some sort of lab, terrier, pit bull, herding dog mix. Cause he looks like a lab/pit bull and she looks like a terrier/herding dog. His name is Albus (from the Latin for 'white') and she's Mazie (cause my mom said so).
Now y'all know why I've been so busy.
=)
I'm happy.
Be happy with me.
I'll tell you more about their personalities later.
=)

Busy, busy, busy (Sunday)

Sorry for lack-of-updatedness.

I'll have to tell you later. Cause I'm terribly busy...
busy, busy.
I should be working on Christmas Presents.

Blackout (Thursday)

This is what happens when you have a homeschooler in a blackout.
Do you like it?
Cause I sure do!
I appear to be having issues. I tried to draw Mickey Mouse, but when I managed to get one of his faces to look right, I couldn't get my style to look right. I'll work on it.
We cleaned again today.
Mom and I finally got sick of grabbing pens/pencils that didn't work/weren't sharpened. So we bought some new pencils and Dry-erase markers and went through all our pencil baskets and the junk drawer. Threw out a lot of things and then we had a blackout. That's when I drew this on my hand. I was feeling festive. So you get poinsettias. On me.
Btw, the best pens to use on your hands are the ones that say MegaFlow on the barrel. That's so you don't have to constantly go back over lines you already did and you don't end up with red hands.
This was really fun to do.
I should draw stuff like this more often.

Gifts (Friday)

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bah
HUMBUG
I wanted to give Cassie a full sketchbook, but I'm afraid I'll have to complete what I can tonight and let her keep it until Christmas break, whereas I can fill it more.
...
Cassie, you'll get the gift that keeps on... gifting.
And I keep trying to spell gift as 'girft.'
Ah, well.
I also want to gift something for a friend of mine... I'm gonna be real sneaky and not tell you guys anything, because you know her and I want it to be a surprise. And she'll probably figure out what it is if you tell her it's from me. *suspicious glare* ANYwho, I have a ref page for you! =D
They are the Ilumni.
Information!
They are black with glowing markings. BLACK. I haven't colored one yet, so get over it. The colors are based solely on the temperament of the individual. The spectrum goes from Red to Blue, Red being the more aggressive personalities and the Blue being more passive. Any Purple color, however, is said to have emotional imbalances and goes quickly from one mood to the other. Any color besides that (Orange, green, yellow...) is perfectly normal. They are photosynthetic through the dark spot on their chests, and use the light they collect to make their markings glow, and to use their weapons. Their weapons are their hands, which can change shape when they have enough light in them. Their left becomes a blade, and their right becomes a light cannon. This cannon is harmless, considering it shoots concentrated balls of light, and is only lethal if shot close-range at the face. They are, for the most part, peaceful and only use their left weapons to cut branches to make their homes. They communicate through clicks that come from a spot below their neck (not pictured here) and they see through bands of light on their heads, which they can expand or shrink to make expressions. Females have these bands all the way around their heads, as opposed to the males which have the bands end an inch or two passed where their ears should be.
You know what, I bet none of you read all this, so I'll stop while I'm still at the basics and not getting into their social structure.

~Allie

Symbolism (Saturday)

I love symbolism when its easy to understand.
I'll leave you to think about what this means, I don't feel like explaining.
You get to know that her wings are based off the Swallowtail butterfly. I'd love to hear everyone's theories.
Maybe later I'll tell you what it means to me. Maybe.
I'm really liking butterfly wings. They're fun to color, but I think the black marker's got it in for me. I get a headache every other time I use it. And I'm asking for replacement nibs for copics. I need 3. THREE. acajf;jfd;ozlvjaodjk
2 are skintones... the other's the blender.
I like her dress. I like it a lot.
I want one...
Ah, well.
Whatever.

Classic Redo (Thursday)

I'm not posting anything until I get the three of them sketched out, but I will tell you about them.
'A Christmas Carol'
One of my favorites, a classic.
I want to do a version of the ghosts that I dreamed up, quite literally. You see, my versions are very much humanoid, but the one time they decide to do their job in costume, a writer has to get the idea written down. Future still hasn't forgiven Present for this, even though he apologized numerous times. Present is the only guy, the other two are girls.
Past has her head, well, in the past, and she's a perpetual 13-year-old. She loves books and her clothing is usually a bit historical, but she's helpful to others when Present and Future are there to remind her what she's doing.
Present is always in the moment. He knows his surroundings at all times and is aware of what's going on around him. Doesn't think ahead much, and gets on Future's nerves a lot, but he gets along well with the mortals and is generally fun to be around. He also loves to eat, I mean, it's amazing how much this guy can put away. He looks to be about 23.
Future is rather serious. She thinks ahead about big decisions (and little ones) and doesn't talk much. She likes Past, but tolerates Present, and is a bit of a recluse. Her wardrobe is made up of basic pieces she puts with more modern stuff. She looks to be around 28.
...
That's all I have to say about that.
Math was fun today.
Nice, easy, straightforward graphing.
Lines, circles, parabolas and intercepts.... and something else I can't remember the name of.
I'm gonna go now...

Happy (Belated) Halloween! (Monday)

I know it was yesterday, but I drew the picture then.
I showed it to my mom this morning and she went O.o, so I figured I got it to look right. I'm cleaning the sketch currently, but if I get it inked, I'll repost. It'll look much better once I get around to ink/color.
Yes, this is actually a redo of a picture I did the first of this year, where the character was doing the same thing, but more Shakespeare, and not quite the same look.
By the way, I'm currently hooked on Christmas music.
So I'm going to start working on a Christmas project soon.
And my sissy's coming home this weekend! Yay. =)
Is it November already?
Goodness, but I will never miss walking through a candy isle while anticipating one of the decorations on sale to jump/yell at me.
Yah, I didn't really spend much time cleaning this. -.-
For the record, never ask my characters what their 'special ability' is.
Happy All Saints Day,

Supercalifragalisticexpialidocious

MARYPOPPINSYAY!!!!!
Far too excited, really. But it is Mary Poppins.
'Practically perfect in every way.'
I drew the fox! Not very good, I'll be fixing it in the meantime, but you get a screenshot of him for the road.
Not the most flattering screenshot, just for the record... Ah, well.
Apparently I'll be entering my Observatory in the contest. I may put the other out for display only, but it's not finished. And I don't know, I put far too much effort into the other to have it judged, I guess. I should know better than to put something up for judgement that I'm emotionally attached to. (Yes, you can get attached to these things. Makes it really hard to take criticism. And it burns when you work hard on something and it doesn't place. Not to mention the fact I don't take art classes sets me at a disadvantage.)
Well, I'll be watching my movie and filling in the forms.

SORRY (Monday)

AHHHHHHHHH
Today.
Sums up my head this morning.
Had quite a few screws loose when I woke up.
Sorry about not uploading that picture, I got the lazies. Horrible, and highly contagious.
Also, I tried to start a promise I made my sister (a full 24 page drawing book), but I messed up really bad on the very first page. The idea was nice, but the coloring was so bad and when I tried to fix it, it became steadily worse... so there will probably be only 23 pages. SORRY! I'll be sure to make every single page as awesome as I can to make up for it.
This means sketch AND ink.
Maybe color, but with how that's going so far, only partial can be guaranteed.
Ok, I'm scanning the promised sketch now.
Ohmanitlooksbadcomparedtotheotherone.
-sigh-
Well, it was a concept sketch...
My parents want the full color one to be framed... well, if they want to pay for it. Maybe I can get the marker I need for the other picture while I'm at it... but the 40% off coupon is only good through the 30th.
So, the picture... well, the character, is an observatory. The girl from the waist up is the telescope, and her hair can reflect the colors of nebulas as she chooses. It looks pretty bad here... Well, 'never closer than the moon' is an accurate description of her, she's constantly looking into space, projecting what she sees onto that big glass sphere she's 'holding.' You can also see stars reflected in her eyes, which have no pupils because I wanted more of the spaced out look and they make her look too focused.
Yeah... that's all I've got.
Go with God.

Stargazing (Friday)

Ok, so, the uncolored pic of the Observatory is now colored, but I'm thinking she may be a contest piece.
The other contest piece is nearly finished, just have to color the walls.
And replace one of the nibs (coloring tips) on my colorless blender. Turns out blending black colored pencil wasn't such a good idea... but it came out good. :)
Ooooo, yay. I'm getting pizza for dinner. YUM.
Oh rawr, it seems that Hobby Lobby may not have copic nibs. :( Oh well, I'll have pizza. Though I do need to go get a color, so I could take a look-see while I'm there. Till then, I'll have to think of a way to talk my parents into ordering them off amazon. You get 3-5 per pack, so it's not like I'll need them often. I'm seeing why the copics are cheaper. If that had been a prismacolor, I would've had to buy a whole new marker. Now I'll get 5 new marker nibs for any color I need! BWAHAHAHAHA. *coughcough* um, yes. Well, I'll put up the initial sketch of the obervatory later, for now I'm going to hunt for pizza.
Go with God,
~Allie

Observatories and Polar Opposites (Wednesday)

...
Um.
Yes, well...
It's kindof hard to explain.
A while ago I was thinking... and I had the idea of a human observatory... so just recently I drew two pictures of her. One stands incomplete, as I need references I don't feel like hunting for.
The polar opposites is YinYang. She's one person in two personifications, one reflecting the chaos of worldly living and the other reflecting the church. Both are good and bad in their own ways. Yin; she expresses the ability to lead, but doesn't always know what is best for those she leads, and Yang, though she wants to live a faithful life, gets too easily pulled into the concerns of others and has a tendency to get deeply involved in politics. Yes, they are two bodies with two distinct personalities, and they are one person. Their appearances are nearly identical.
...
I may load some scans later, but I haven't done anything of YinYang.
And you know, I was given the impression that Yang was order and Yin was chaos, but when I looked it up in the online dictionary... let's just say I officially have no more a clue then before I looked it up....
Oh well.

Cartoony (Tuesday)

Wow, is Monday gone already?
Ugh, the days are passing me by.
I've recently fallen in love with Gunnerkrigg Court by Tom Siddell. Oh my goodness. Wonderful plotlines and a style that is so easy to enjoy. -.- My style needs to be more that. I want to start something like that. Would be lots of fun. I could use all of my own characters and redesign some classic fiction characters to suit my needs. Cause I'm lame and dislike normality. Why be stuck with the restrictions of this reality when you can simply choose another? Artfully speaking, of course. You can't change the fabric of reality itself, but you can create parallel dimensions that suit the needs of your imagination. I need a TARDIS chair really bad now. (If you don't know what the TARDIS is, you are seriously missing out.) Not saying that I need a chair that looks like TARDIS, but I need a chair I can sit in and travel to these parallel dimensions my brain seems to be full of. Pah, I need to find a drawing style I can be very consistent with to begin with.
Anyways, check out Gunnerkrigg Court, it's quite wonderful.

Consumed (Sunday)

Totally consumed by my contest piece.
Considering I don't have a lot of shades in marker, I'm having to use some prismapencils. It's... going... where, I don't really know, but I'll get it finished eventually.
So I probably won't be posting much, although, if I get a sketchy mood, I might upload a sketch page. Unlikely, though, cause this piece has me kindof obsessive. Need some more markers. I'm not going to post the piece until after the contest (because I'm all paranoid and things), but if I get it to a point where I feel I can leave the it-picking for later, I'll try and put up something halfway decent.
...
I don't know why I like this so much, but give the girl some love, she deserves it!
All of her stuff is insanely awesome. I know I'm not a big fan of digital art, but her characters are very well put together and very original. Gotta love them unique brainwavers. Wish I could be that fascinating.
Just for the record, the kid in the blue shirt is genderless, not a guy. -.- Otherwise I would not be showing you people this. Nor would I be a fan of hers. (Closet fan, but fan none the less.)
...
Not much else to say, really.
Happy Weekend.
Go with God,
~Allie

Frankly My Dear... (Thursday)

I'll leave you to finish that sentence.
Lately I've been noticing the term 'Frank' being questioned.
So, my mind (being strange as ever), came up with the idea for a character.
He is called a 'state of mind,' so he's nowhere near being human, but he has a physical form. In his true form (he calls it ghosting) he can get people to speak their mind when they come in contact with him. He rarely does this, but occasionally he runs into people when he doesn't want to be seen by the general population. Some people can see him whilst ghosting, but it's hard to tell if they fall into a category that would specify who can and can't. I'll try drawing him later, but I just felt like sharing him and seeing if he would be a good idea. Oh, his name is Frank Jr., son of Frank Sr. Sr doesn't really like talking about Jr's mother, so we can't really say who she is.... Frankly, it's hard to tell when they're lying...

Mountain Tops to Valleys... (Tuesday)

...In Three Seconds Flat.
I think it's a record.
Really.
I had this incredible, joyous, mountain top experience and go right back to old Allie the moment I talk to one of my friends in theater.
Old habits die hard.

I've changed.
I'm letting you in on it.

And I hope you'll treat me as such, because I don't want to go back to old Allie, I want to hold on to this piece of mountain top for as long as possible. I want to live for God like I wanted to so badly Sunday evening.
I want to be a Light, a woman out to work to the glory of God and be so happy I could burst.
I know I'm asking a lot from y'all, but I need you to back me.
Devil's dragging me down from the inside out, and I refuse to go out without a fight.
Well, that's my bit for today.
Go with God,

Weird Wednesday

So, yes, I was thinking about vampires a day or so ago...
Came up with a rather interesting female vampire from Russia.
She has her own view on the world which we live in, particularly city folks.
Here's what I came up with while thinking her up:

'These mortals, so foolish. Wasting their lives away on worry, stress and fear. They appreciate nothing and want everything, their bitter hearts pumping worthless life into their weary veins. They resent their comfortable jobs, wishing they had it easy. When will they learn it's all for nothing? They came with nothing, they leave with nothing, so why even try? No, they just make a sour feast for those who go through the effort to hunt these miserable creatures.'

That's all I had, to be honest. She's a bit... pessimistic, as some would say. I think she's a bit of a realist. She lives on the fringes on society and stays nowhere long. She has a pretty good grasp on what people are like.
She amuses me greatly because of her attitude. While the other vampires are all about claiming territory, she just passes through like she owns the world. Not like anyone with sense would contradict her, but just the same. She had been born and Russia and she died there, she's been to the United States a few times, but she hates the people there.
I've been watching way too much 'Glen Beck,' I'm getting my own opinion about society. But really, I enjoy not feeling like an idiot. He treats you like you have a brain, and his saying is, "Do your own homework,' so I take him as honest. Once I get a break I'll start doing my own homework, and reading some of those books he recommended (now bestsellers).
Well, I hope you enjoyed my vampire's views.
Have a nice day.

Monday Update

Sorry about not updating, I've been lazy.
Nothing has really been going on around here. I'm getting a whole day of fall break. ya-hoo. Well, thought I'd tell y'all (cause I might not post again this week, stupid math) that I'm going on my Chrysalis Flight. =) I'm really excited/nervous.
What's a Flight?
Hmm, I don't really know, but it's a Friday-Sunday thing. It's a... Faith-building thing I guess. My sponsor (and youth minister) is supposed to be filling me in on what it is, but I think he's new at sponsoring (or just afraid to talk to me) so he's not really getting on top of things.
How do I know so much?
Oh yeah, my parents are heavily involved with the community that puts these things on, so I've actually heard stuff that goes on.
This Flight is teenage girls only. No guys. Whatsoever, but there may be a male minister there, but I really hope it's a woman. (Yes, there are such things)
There are Flights for guys, though. One for each gender once a year.
....
Ahhhhhhh. Sonervous!!!!!
I've nothing else to say....
Have a nice day.

Paper Children (Wednesday)

You may be thinking, 'What is she talking about?' but, I have a good(ish) explanation.
Paper children (singular; paper child) are a recent fad people have gotten into.
So, being my ever-experimenting self, I tried it. And no wonder it's so popular! It's really fun. Though I admit I'm a bit weird going non-chibi, but I draw so small as it is, so why not?
So here I am hoisting myself up by the back of the shirt.
Lovely.
Her arm is discolored cause I had to redo the sleeve, which I had unpulled and looking really weird. The proportions are all off, but I haven't had all that much experience doing weird poses like this, so I'll probably be doing more.
This was done on white construction paper ish type thing.
It's a little weird, I know, but it was fun and I want to do another one.
Any suggestions?
Well, have a nice day.

Baby, it's Chilly Outside (Tuesday)

I quite like coming up with spiffy little titles like this. =)
Makes me happy.
Unlike the temperature this morning.
BRRRRR
I get out of bed and go to the kitchen and the floor is COLD.
I kindof miss that carpet now, but that's what we get for leaving the windows open overnight. Yes, I dislike cold weather, if I must wear a jacket to be comfortable it's too cold. -.- So yes, one of my favorite characters is the herald of Winter. I'm a strange one, indeed.
I cut his feet off because I dislike them. The shoes haven't been shaded, shined, and look sad and two-dimensional. His shoulders make me happy. They took some work, but I like the overall effect. I should ditch the stripes and do that on the sleeves and pants. They're just too wide. I'll put them on his vest if I ever draw him without the jacket. Ugh, the shirt collar looks so bad! Man the scan made him pale... he looks purple/blueish but the hair makes me sorta happy, so I'm cool. =P
Ah, man. Long day.
Ready for sleep.
Oh yeah, the inspiration for the title of this blog post is (obviously) 'Baby, It's Cold Outside,' by ... who knows? Seriously, I don't know. We're playing it in band. It's coming together nicely.
Well, that's all I have for you people today.
Have a nice day.

Some Semblance of Order (Monday)

O.O
I've gone crazy.
I wish you could see this desk.
It looks wonderful.
So, yeah. The printer (which used to take up most of my desk space) was moved due to the getting rid of the treadmill (who needs one when you can jog outside?). So I had the compulsion to clean my desk off so I could use it for schoolwork as well as computer work.
Oh
My
Goodness.
It's beautiful.
I've got a church mug for pencils, all my computering things are on the opposite edge of the desk (or are easily moved there), and my schedule is magneted onto the side of the file cabinet with my math 112 resources.
Now to get rid of the mess that is the floor next to my desk.
x.x
Later.
Not tomorrow, too busy.
Maybe Wednesday.
And Sorry, too lazy to scan my Jack Frost (yes, he's finished).
I also found out earlier that my mom already had both of the pens I bought. Well, we live and learn. Won't have to get one for a while at least. =)
Oh, I also cleaned my shelf for the schoolbooks.
Looks quite nice.
Very tired.
Going through papers and old binders will do that to you.
I'm gonna chill for a while.
Promise I'll post Jack tomorrow.
Have a nice day.

Saturday Update

Sorry no pictures, been too busy procrastinating.
In the meantime, I got the pens are markers I wanted! =D
I got a pale skintone, the colorless blender, a silver pen, and a white pen.
Once I'm done procrastinating, I'll get right to work on drawing.
...
Those of you who've been following me for a while probably know exactly what markers I have... and pens...
Ah, well, I'm going to eat my cheetos.
Have a nice day!

Edit: I have since stopped procrastinating, and have almost finished the lineart of a new Jack. Unfortunately he has really long legs and looks like an ad for men's suits. =P A bit amusing, actually, but I might have him posted tomorrow. =)

Expressionism (Thursday)

Ok, so it isn't actual expressionism, but they're expressions... get it?... Moving on.
Today was good. So was yesterday.
I came home from a Theater meeting to people in my house. That was a bit odd, but otherwise the day was normal. I got a song. Two, actually. I'm not usually into stuff like Manafest, but this song is awesome.
I also drew a little remake of my usual avatar, so you get that too.
The shirt's black and has Yoshi on it. I kept the flicted bangs and converses. I have those pants... and I make them look good. Don't worry, I'll still use the other one, I'm more used to it. I'll use this one when I feel like putting in effort. =P I'm a little off today, if you couldn't tell.
Oh yes, my rearview mirror is fixed, but my dad took the thing hanging off it so I have to find something to put in it's place.
And that's the entirety of my day.
Man I wish I was that cute. -.-
Have a nice day.

Jack Frost Sketch (Tuesday)

Ahhhhhh
Today's been kinda crazy.
I get my stuff in the car because I don't want to be late to band (again. -.-), and notice something odd on the passenger's side floor. It's my rear-view mirror. O.O Oh noes, what do I do? Call dad. He told me it was fine, so I left (a bit nervous) for band 15 minutes away. I (the only clarinet) had to play over 7 trumpets, 4 flutes, and the goober playing sax next to me. I nearly went cross-eyed, but apparently it payed off, because the director complimented me. On the way to Theater rehearsal (still feeling a bit cross-eyed), the low washer fluid light turns on in my dashboard. -.- Luckily nothing else went wrong on the way home (which is only 2 whole minutes from school, so no big deal) and I got a headache. Yay for painkiller not working.
...
Oh, yes.
The long-awaited Jack Frost! :D
I'm just happy enough with him to post it... however I cut him off short because I didn't have a reference for his shoes (which are a blue bowling-shoe type, kinda neat) and he turned a bit disproportionate at the legs. I hope I made him threatening enough. I messed up on his mouth though, so it's kinda smudged and I think his face could've been a bit more angular. I really don't want to ink him until I have a white pen. That hair cannot be done properly without it. Most of this sketch, in fact, would not be inked initially. The stripes and hair would not be inked until after coloring. Crazy, right? But the madness has a method, and I hope it turns out all right. In the meantime, I hope you can enjoy the sketch as much as I don't feel like redoing it right now.
Have a nice day!

Monday Update

So... yah, I've nothing to post.
I've been working on my new style, and it's working well. I'm just having trouble remembering how to draw guys. hehe. I've almost got a Jack Frost worth showing, and I've decided that Summer must be his little sister. Would explain the love/hate relations they have. I also have the burning desire to draw a picture of Summer in her dress, wearing sunglasses and drinking a Starbucks. The thought amuses me greatly, cause it makes so much sense.
I also know where I can get the elusive white ink pen. The scrapbooking section. -.- Those people need to stop hoarding all the drawing supplies. I also want a silver pen for the striping on Jack's suit, would be a lot easier to just put the pin striping on after the color. Also need to get the colorless blender... I'm gonna be broke real soon... Oh well, all in the name of art.
Have a nice day.

Presenting....(Sunday)

A new(ish) style!
And a chibi!
I drew these on my bulletin today. I know, bad Christian, pay attention in church, but then you wouldn't have these.
Btw, Jack Frost is coming slowly, so it'll be quite a while before you see him here.
So yes, you have (chibi)me and Summer. Her face is rather weird, but I can live with the fact it's a doodle. I don't know why I drew the chibi, I just felt like it... I also drew an eye and mouth thing that looked a lot like Reba... quite Strange. I drew another face I loved a bunch, but when I put a head on it (because it reminded me of Summer), it looked weird.
...
I'm on a Who rampage.
Expect artings.
(The 10th Doctor is still my favorite. I have the full transcript for this video, it's like talking to the Doctor!!!!! I need a life...)
This coming season needs to be a lot better than last season, I think there was a whole 7 episodes to last season. I require more Doctor than that, you stupid writers... -.-
... Now I can't find a date for the season premier... rawr... ohwell.
Have a nice day!

Shades of Blue (Thursday)

Yes, I'm still working of getting Jack Frost to look right.

I've never used so much blue in my life.
A lot of reds and blacks, but not blue.
Kinda nice, really.
I've got an idea of how to do his hair, but I've yet to get him to look sinister or have his suit... look like a suit. Of course, if I do his hair the only way I know how to make it look right, I may have to change the entire style of the piece, which is frustrating, but may be a good thing. I like the hair test I did, it looks all floofy. I'll try to sharpen it up with shading and whatnot, but I may try that again... I'll post an edit if I get anywhere today...

Weird Wednesday

Yes, I drew this a few minutes ago and only now realized what today was...
I finally named her! She's Lily now. =)
I really don't have anything to say about her, but I wanted to test out my new black (copic) marker. I got that and a light blue and light yellow today. Why? Cause I had money and a coupon and I love copics... Man it would be awesome to know I'll get some for Christmas... I already know about the cool headphones my dad wants to get me. Maybe, if I feel like taking myself there, I'll go out and get that colorless blender. Would make Jack's hair a great deal easier to color... it'd also be easier if I could do a satisfactory lineart of him.
Oh yeah, that is supposed to be blood that her name is written in... I also wanted to make sure you could see lines in the hair and clothes if I colored them, so there's a reason why she's not looking at you. Besides the fact she doesn't like you... she didn't like that other guy much either... She's got nice handwriting for a little girl, am I right? ^.^; hehe...
Well, hope you have a nice day...

Tuesday Bidness

Yes, bidness.
Now, onto it.
I finally got my b-day present from my sister's boyfriend (we'll call him Chris, cause that's his name) which was 'Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.' So, in a fit of actress-artist syndrome, I put on 'The Santa Clause 3; The Escape Clause' (I don't know if I spelled any of that wrong, but oh well, like I care) which I love because of the actors, costumes, and the sets! Martin Short and Tim Allen in one movie? Yes, it's brilliant. Jack Frost (Martin Short's character) has to be my favorite. So, yes, I hate the ending. -.- But the main reason I watched it was because they build the sets, and they're amazing. Tim Burton used way too much green screen in his movie for my taste. I understand, it is Wonderland, but do you have to make it so... fake? -sigh-
Oh yeah, my point, I drew this as a counter-balance for Jack Frost's character. She's as cunning as he is, but has none of his ambition. She does create mischief, but is more relaxed. Her design was based on the Grecian style with the grape vines, hair, and dress, but I wanted her to have a strong enough personality to go with Jack. They actually fight a lot, so not any romance going on here.
The picture itself is ok, but I'm playing with my style a little bit. Do you like her hair?!?!?! I sure do! It was fun being able to make the individual strands different shades. I may post a full shot of her if I get around to drawing it.
Yeah, I would've posted my Jack Frost too... but I'm having issues with his hair. In the meantime, if you haven't seen any of 'The Santa Clause' movies, you need to buy all three for your family for Christmas, they will enjoy them. (I'm really hating the fact there is so much time between summer and Christmas...)
Have a nice day! =)

Friday Art Block

Yes, I've come down with the dreaded Art block.
Can't even draw a straight line... with a ruler... which is sad beyond belief.
It's really depressing when you're trying to start contest pieces and they turn out really badly. Add sore arms to the mix and you have my wonderful day.
But there is a football game tomorrow to look forward to... yes, that will be good. And I get to spend the night with my sissy. That will be good.
In the meantime, here's a picture I took on my cruise. I had about half a second to take this picture before I had to keep moving with the tour group. I used the close-up feature on my camera and the natural lighting (which was splendid, by the way, it couldn't be more perfect). I have a bunch more like this, but I'm entering one or two in the photo contest, and want them to be a surprise. ^.^
Have a nice day.

Edit: Ok, I know it's Saturday, but I didn't feel like making a new post.
I found this artist who draws such wonderful pencil sketches and all her characters are so real and adorable, I just had to share. Most of her written stuff is in French (cause she is) so it makes me want to take french.... and go back to plain old pencil sketches. Oh well, I'll probably work in J-ville if I get the chance. Please browse through her gallery, she deserves some love.
Have a great weekend!
GO GAMECOCKS!

Thursday Lazeday

Yes, lazeday. But I have been practicing.
If anything good comes out of it I might post it here, but I don't know, I may want it for my own enjoyment.
I wanted to share this with you: NHOM!
The cuteness wishes to devour my soul, so I figured I'd unleash it on my dear followers as well.

I really want to get better faster.
I know I'm not the best artist in the world, no matter how happy I am with the turnout of anything, but I am not a patient person. I'd much rather have my best ability delivered to me without all the stress and work I'm going through each time I get off the art website and see my own second-rate works. It's so selfish and stupid and I really am my own worst critic, but I just wish I could see myself getting better overall, not just compared to sketches I did a year and a half ago.
I'm just wondering if all artists go through this hell to get to where they need to be.

Hope your days are less major high to extreme low than mine are being lately.

Edit: Sorry about that. Sometimes I need a good kick in the pants. I'm trying to gear up for a contest coming up in a few months, and I really hope it goes better than last time. Critiques are MORE than welcome, as long as constructive. Praise only goes so far, criticism hurts but helps me to improve. I will probably be posting some sketches of ideas for a contest piece, so comments are very much loved.

50th Post!!! (Wednesday)

*confetti*
Yeah, I'm overly celebrating the amount of posts I've had. But hey, confetti is fun.
So here's the scan I promised you guys. I hope you enjoy her.
Don't ask me why she's sad, or why her hair is so long. It's a long, only-interesting-to-me story that starts with a long-winded explanation of the customs of her race. Fascinating. Maybe some day I'll feel like explaining it all.
Bah, my mom. Why do you take out a can of soup while I'm washing a pot so I can make ramen? It only makes me frustrated because if you don't get your soup because I'm trying to eat two servings of ramen as quickly as possible (I can eat it all, for the record), you'll whine and complain for the entirety of my dinner, so I don't make ramen so you'll get your soup.
Then you have eggs.
Rather frustrated at the moment, if you couldn't tell.
And trust me on the dinner thing, because two out of three women in my family can rant and rave about something stupid for the longest time.
I like to think I take after my dad and know when to drop it.
...
Enjoy the picture and don't laugh at my suffering.
I really like her. I wanted her hair to be light grey/silver, but I don't have that marker, so this is what you get. I had fun with the stars on her gown and the beads in her hair (and yes, some of them are supposed to be white. Only wished I had been more careful around the edges of the stars...
That's all I have to say.
Have a nice day. *more confetti*

Flowers and Ivy (Tuesday)

I finished the picture from yesterday! Pretty, no?
It's tedious work, but unlike math, if you mess up, you can still make it look good. All the strands of hair were done solely in ink. After I finished all the inking, I realized the flowers and ivy I'd put it had almost vanished, so I colored them. I went a bit crazy with the petals. Yellow and a little pink dot on every. single. one. But the effect is nice, so I guess it's worth it. I've finished another, but I really wish I had the colors for her hair so it'd look even better. Ah, well. I'll post it tomorrow.
Have a nice day.

Monday, September 6, 2010

YAY! It's... Monday.

I'm trying something new, if you couldn't tell.
I found this nifty step-by-step this person did and thought they style was very cool looking. This isn't finished, as you can tell, but the more I looked at the elven dancer I promised, the less I liked her. So many problems, I won't even go there. I did get a little careless with the back of her head, but I'm just getting used to this technique. It requires a lot more attention than manga does. I might color this. It all depends on how tired I am after I'm done inking the thing.
I really want some lighter markers, but I don't know if I want to spend that much money right now. Though a good black would be awesome, the prismacolor is getting worse by the use. Well, I will have to give it some consideration.
In the meantime, have a nice day.

Happy Thursday

Not that much is happy about it, I'm quite tired, actually, but it's rather nice out and I'm making cookies for a bakesale tomorrow. They are going to be wonderful. I do have something to post, two, in fact, of the same girl. I don't feel like scanning them at the moment, so you'll just have to live with it.
I have my own car key now! :D I dug through my closet to find the one little stuffed animal on a keyring. Took me about 10 minutes, but I got my little blue piggy attached to the key now. :)
Well, I must go give my attentiveness to the oven now.
Have a nice day.

Monday Madness

I'm very proud of this picture.
Came out very nice. The only thing I have to pick at is over her left eye, I tried to fix an accident that occurred during the hair coloring, and now it looks almost worse than it did before. The pose is a little weird, but I am really tired of drawing people just standing around.
I watched 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' last night on youtube. So now I'm drawing an elven gypsy. Her skirt is kindof short at the moment, but I am very happy with the way her legs turned out and didn't want them to go away forever. I might make it longer if I feel like it, but I'm mainly drawing it to play with sheer fabrics and wrinkles. Yes, wrinkles can be played with. And I need to, my skill at making fabric look the way I want it to is severely lacking.
My new pens are fun.
Have a nice day!

Saturday

Yes, I'm posting on a Saturday.
Just letting you people know I got the rest of the pens I wanted and an SD card reader. This, of course, means I'll probably be posting pictures of things I saw on my vacation. :) It makes me happy. In the meantime, this is why women always get what they want.
Sorry for the random link to Harry Potter (Well, Malfoy family) fanart, but it makes me happy. (click it to make it bigger so you can reads it)
Well, I'm going to go play with my pens now. Have a nice day.

Friday Update

Alrighty, sorry about not posting yesterday, I was recovering from Wednesday.
I'm listening to music I've heard hundreds of times and still love. iTunes calls it my 'top 25,' I call it awesomeness on a stick...
But yes, these songs take me back to when I started seriously drawing. I still have some of those really old and humiliating drawings I used to be so proud of. I still am proud of them, because I had to suffer through those to get to where I am now.
Every once in a while, I take time to look back at my old works. This reminds me how far I've come, and that I'm doing all this for fun. It helps when I've got no idea what to draw, and by taking time to look at old and new, I am able to pick out where I need to improve. It's amazing how music can make one such a happy nostalgic. Ah, well. I might scan something later, but in the meantime; Have a nice day. =)

Edit: Ok, I got this done kinda quick. She's not perfect, but she's cute... I really need to stop drawing at an angle... Enjoy it anyway.

Weird Wednesday

You how most people hate Mondays?
I hate Wednesday. -.- Specially today. I'm really off right now.
On a lighter note, I now have TWO followers!!!! OwO *glee* ... I'm pathetic.
Anyways, I've been practicing interaction... It's more difficult than it looks. So is making a guy look good in profile. I think I've got the basics, but I need practice. Lots of it.

... I'm thinking I really need to go spend some dogsitting money on a cupcake. A big one.... maybe coffee/chocolate flavored.
I've nothing more to say...

Edit: Ok, two more followers. Either you two pity me greatly or are perverts... *pokes 'practicing interaction'* Maybe I'm just thinking about this too much...
I've decided you pity me, since y'all are Baptists...
... Don't hurt me....

Tuesday Stuff

So, I was at Hobby Lobby today, picking out Copics. Very exciting. This really tall black guy was standing next to me looking at pencils and erasers. He looks at me and asks, "Have you gotten those before?" I was kindof surprised that he was talking to me, but I said, "Yeah, I have." "I like them." "They're expensive, but worth it." This is where it got interesting. "What do you do?" "I'm a beginner, but I mostly do manga." "Cool. I used to work for Disney, as a cartoonist." I was like O.O "Really? That's awesome." "Yeah, it was fun. Keep up with your work." "Ok" OwO
After I got my last marker I ditched the painting stuff and zoomed away to tell my mom about what happened. I really wish I had asked his name. I'm really curious now.
Btw, I got 7 markers.
It cost a whopping $50. O.o
I'll post a scan or two later. Gotta finish my schoolwork.

Edit: I reeeaaally like these two!!! Full copics! I'm proud of them.
Misdreavous and Mismagius in human form. I luffs them, they are so very much fun to draw and color. I'll admit, over a large area I get really uneven, but it works for the ghosties. =3
Misdreavous was a bit of a challenge, though, colorwise. I wanted to give her a black shirt, but since I only have a black prismacolor, I knew I'd lose all my wonderful wrinkles in the process, so I made it blue. I also wanted to make her hair black, but the pokemon is actually blue/green. So now that I have both colors, I tested and found it suitable. I hope I pulled off the see-through pink sleeve on Misdreavous. I saw someone's technique and just had to try it out.
Oh yeah, the colors I got are a; blue, green, yellow, light skin tone, pink, brown, and purple.
Expect a Minstrel sometime soon.

Monday Madness

Yes, THREE.
To make up for the lack of pictures lately.

First one, is crabbing. Yes, it's fishing for crabs. No, there are no fishing poles involved. YOu basically have a line of bait in the water and have the line on a hook so it gets pulled to the surface. When you see a crab, you scoop it up in the net and dump it in a bucket. On the way back to the start of the line, you measure the crabs and keep only the males big enough to keep. Kills your back... or mine, anyway.

Secondly, have you see 'The Rescuers?' Very good. This picture was inspired when we went out boating in my grandpa's larger boat that has an engine made by Evinrude. See where I'm going with this? That's regular Link, by the way. I found the situation more believable with him rather than his shadow.

Last one, back to pokemon. I got a misdreavous on Pokemon Indigo, which is very fun, and the more I looked at her the more I liked the idea. (I just realized I misspelled her name on the page, so I'm cropping it out.) So, yeah. I'll ink and color this one later. Her legs are fading out cause she's a ghost type.

I am trying out a new style, because I'm getting less a fan of the old one. Tomorrow I will be spending the money I made looking after those stupid dogs on markers! I'll also be buying a canvas and paint to try my hand at painting, if I feel like spending that much money in one go.

Fridays

I really have nothing to say, but I will scan something tomorrow.
In the meantime, enjoy this video.

Thursday Business

Wow, seems like a whole week since I last posted!
Ohwait.
Never mind.

Well, I is back from my trip. Everything is fine, though I thought I had a dead fishy on my hands. You see, we got him this dissolving food stuff so he could eat for a few days. The package said it wouldn't cloud the water, but was for a much bigger tank so we cut it in half. I come back. The water is BROWN and smells AWFUL. Poor baby. I cleaned his tank right away. He got a bit stunned after the transfer from BROWN to clean water, but he's fine. A bit dull and faded, but his regular food should bring his color back.

Anyways, onto business.
I did draw a few pictures while I was away, so they will be posted. However, school is getting back into full swing and I feel like I'm a step and a half behind. So I will not be fighting the scanner until Saturday, when I will post at least one. Ahhhhh, I need work, all this vacationing has got me worn out.
But I will be DRIVING to school today!
I'm so happy to be legal on the first try!
Lucky for me it's a short drive from here to school, so my first all-alone drive won't be so nerve racking. I'll still be going like 10 minutes early, just so I can find a parking spot and find the classroom without being pressed for time.
I've no more to say, really. Might post tomorrow... maybe...

Lazy Thursday

I failed you.
I didn't get any work done, so you'll just have to stick with empty space until I get back.
Sorry.
I can't wait to get away from this dog!!!! Trixie's driving me crazy and all they want to do is play. I'm trying to think, I don't want to play fetch with you!!! And just because you whine at the door does not make me want to let you in.
I've been playing Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess... for about the umpteenth time. Makes me wish I drew prettier boys. *sniffsniff* Why must hot swordsmen be so hard to draw?!?!?!?! *pout*
AAAaaahhhhhhhh we just had a dog panic. My mom let in the dogs before shutting up the cats, so poor Willow got chased under my parents' bed. Shadow was up in my loft, so she was startled, but left alone. Well, I'm going to get ready for yet another plane ride.
Bye.
P.S. Umpteen is a word too... awesome...

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Tuesday!

As promised, two scans.
I'm not to fond of these two overall, but I like the idea. I'll have to work on their designs. So here we have pokemon girls. I had a guy, but I don't like how he's turning out. xP They're Lopunny and Glameow. Lopunny's way too plain and Glameow ... has issues. It was late, hence all the obvious problems. I have a completely adorable girlie for you tomorrow. She makes me smile.
So onto today's events!
I passed my driving test! =D I'm officially street-legal! MWAHAHAHA- i mean, YAY! *coughcough* I'm excited about being able to drive myself to classes. Good thing school isn't too far away. Ahhhhhh, ohwait, physics is next week, not thursday. whew. Oh yes, I will be leaving on a trip Friday to go visit my grandfather, so I'll try to have some set to post while I'm gone, and draw whilst I'm away.
Yah, that's about it. Bye.

Madness Monday

I have something to post, but I really don't want to scan it right now.
I brought the dogs in this morning (after putting away the kitties) so Trixie could take her meds. She was bouncing. Not kidding, this dog is a morning person. -.- I hate morning people. She's also taken to whining at the door when someone's not outside. I'm starting to think I should've charged more.
Willow went to the vet today. (For those of you who don't know, Willow is a female Maine Coon, medium hair.) She was very well behaved, but she did yowl in the car. That's normal, and Trixie is under my desk begging for my cheetos. -.-
Anyways, they had a kitten dropped off at the vet's. A little tortoise shell kitten. Female, spayed, very playful, friendly and UBER cute. A real sweetie. If you know someone who has room to take her in (and wants her), let me know, she's been there for a month(Enjoying herself, though), and they really want to find her a home.
Sorry, had to throw out a line for the kitten. (SUCH a sweetheart. I would've brought her home if Dad would've been ok with it.) But tomorrow I'll try to make up for this by posting two pictures then.
Until tomorrow, then.

Sundayness

Since I'm Liturgist this month, and you seem to be interested in it, I thought I'd post the Scripture for the week.
I was e-mailed John 10: 9-11, but the bulletin said John 14: 1-6. I asked Pastor Dorothy Ann about it during the fellowship time, and she told me to read the second one. :) She mentioned both in the sermon, so it was no big deal.

In the meantime, the dogs are nuts. Trixie (terrier) likes to mouth people's arms, hands, (my knee) and it's getting annoying. Java (lab) has mellowed out, I taught him the down command... I think. He's pretty good at it, so I'm not sure if it's the first time it's been shown to him.
Oh, and the lazy teenager who writes this blog did housework! Without being asked, might I add... and the bathroom needed it. (Cassie always leaves it a big mess. Don't lie, I know you do. -.-) Bah, I've nothing more to say to you. Goodbye.

Almost the Weekend (Friday)

It really needs to hurry up and be weekend already.
Ugh, but the week has been so short!
College was fine. I'm enrolled for an online math course. Apparently its a really good teacher, so I'll be ok.
So the dogs ate the ball they found in our yard, so we got them two giant tennis balls. The brilliant lab tried to fit them both in his mouth. -.- Not joking. We had to get the giant balls so the chew-happy terrier couldn't get her mouth around them. I'll have to get around to working with the dogs, they need to train. Big time.
Oh yah, the terrier got out last night. One of the boards in the fence was loose so she knocked it down and slipped out. Luckily the lab didn't get out, so she stayed nearby. We all panicked around 6:00 this morning when my dad said she was gone.
It's been a long day... and it's only noonish..... I may update later.... Sorry no art :(

Thursday, August 5, 2010

Thursday.... odd

Still not back on schedule.
So now I have two dogs in the backyard... as opposed to none this morning. One's a terrier, and the other's a retriever. Both are puppies (1-2 years old). Thank goodness they're only here for a week. And I get good money for taking care of them. =D Art supplies, here I come! Anyways, I got no work done today. -.- None. Tomorrow I get to go to college. Yay. I'm not really looking forward to driving there, but my dad's going with me, so it helps. Well, he kinda has to, I'm not quite legal yet.... Well, that's all for today, tune in next time for an update on Dogs and College.

Breaking News!
I'm getting a soda.
Good night.

Happy Wednesday

...
Yes, I forgot about the blog today.
I'm fighting a serious art block. It's so serious, I can't even draw a girl.
I know, shocking, isn't it?
Maybe doing some chibis will help me out... I'll stick them up here if I like them.
And sorry I missed yesterday. Life snuck up and bit me with a shopping trip. And school... which I had to catch up in two subjects today anyway. -.-
Nothing else to say, really.
Oh, watch out when you answer the phone, telemarketers might be on the other end.

Edit: A Marilyn Monroe chibi is worth showing off. :) (Outfit is from 'Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend' in 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.')

It's Monday

I'm really losing touch with the movie madness thing. So, nomore. I'll just post if I draw a cartoon character.
I'm feeling much better. However, I wasn't feeling well enough to serve communion yesterday, but I did read Scripture and lead the prayer. :) Pastor Dorothy Ann said she looked forward to the day we could serve communion together before the service, it was pretty cool. (My dad stepped in for me.) But yes, feeling much better now.
School is starting back up, so posting can be random until I get back in the swing of things.
Nothing else to say, really.
Have a good day.

Friday Special

For the record, I was sick, so I have a good excuse...
Ok, not really, but I was really in no mood to deal with my scanner. And I'm not in the mood to deal with it now, so I'll attach some pictures to this post tomorrow.... maybe.
bleh
Hate being sick.
I really want itunes money.
Anyways, starting Sunday, I will be Liturgist at my church. Just for the month of August, but still, it's cool. I hope I get better soon, I'm supposed to serve communion... -sigh- I'll try to be entertaining tomorrow.

Edit: ... I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to post the picture I drew yesterday. Then again people might not like me if I do. Normally I don't care about such things, but this is my artwork, if my popularity gets any lower my pencils might abandon me. I paid good money for those. Then again, the reactions that I could get from posting my Dark Link picture might be entertaining enough to make it worth it. Hmmmmm. In the meantime, this is adorable.

Edit 2: I did not intend for this to be Dark Link. It just did. In drawing this, I recognized my fascination with red glowy things. I didn't put a shine spot in his eyes because they give off their own light. =3
...
Why did I decide to post this? ... Talking to stupid people makes me want to give them an actual reason to be confused by my motives. =D I'm so generous.
askdjfclkjc The Master Sword is longer than that. -.- I drew it at a bad angle and had to make it all short. The pic of me with the sword is the reference I used for it, but I flipped the triforce symbol to point towards the hilt so it would be different from Link's. I saw it in someone else's work and thought it was a nice touch, so now I point it out. Why is he not wearing his hat? I stole it. And his ponytail is adorable. I realized also how much black/red stuff I'm posting, so I colored the symbol on his hand and gave him a light skin tone. Really should have used I reference for his hair, but ohwell. I'm going to shutup now.

Tuesday Tunes

Yes, I thought about today on my vacation.... :)

No, I didn't.
But the lyrics in 'Hey Devil' by Toby Mac painted such a pretty picture, I had to sketch it out.
I'm referring to "Red scarf in the wind as it started to rain" as the inspiration for this.

TADA! First rain effect I've done! ... And you can't see it in the scan... -sigh- The only thing I'd really fix in this is the hair, I messed up in the sketch and then inked before I realized what was wrong. The shading was also a pain... I could've made it look like she was getting a little wet, but oh well. (The reason it's a little dark was because I was trying to get the rain to show up, but whatever.)

Madness Monday

O.O

Plane ride.
After only about 6 hours of sleep.
After a week long cruise.
And a car ride after all that.

funstuffs.
ANYWAY
I drew a few stuffs, and I did some observations and can now draw a guy! *cheer* Yes, when a bunch of guys in only swim trunks are walking around, I will take to opportunity to take mental notes.
...
NO I was not being creepy. -_-
...
rawr.
So, yes, I do have a few pages to post, so those will be coming up in a week-long special!
Except for tomorrow... I have something that fits that category wonderfully.
Until tomorrow, then.

Tuesday Tunes

Something really random I came up with while playing Super Smash Bros Brawl and listening to Soldiers by Out of Eden.
Steal their gear, they will come.
Master sword from Legend of Zelda.
Cape and Tiara (sorry, headband xP) from Fire Emblem.
Wow, lots of links today.

Movie Madness Monday

So, I'm lazy.
Lazy lazy lazy.
Only two pics for this week. I promise I'll draw on my vacation, but no promises on quality. I can't type today. Ah, well, here's a sketch of Mushu from Mulan. (Yes, I see the line in his arm, his arms were actually added last minute.) Just something quick, and not that good.
Leave me alone.

Weird Wednesday

25th post!
*confetti*
Ok, so it's Wednesday! Time for me to laugh like an evil genius and show what I've created to creep out the few people who actually read my posts. MWAHAha ha.... haha... yeah. So my scanner is not working with me at the moment. -.- grrness
...
Stupid scanner.
So I have no idea where the idea came from, but it did. Pencil sketch, ink'd, marker'd, prismacolor'd. Just so you're not confused, the stuff around her is ripped up stuffed animals. If you couldn't tell be looking at her, she has issues. I was going to color her skin, but the more I thought about the character, the more I liked her white... I probably should've shaded her, but hey, I should probably do a lot of things. Like clean off my computer desk... or clean my room. The bow was a last minute addition, and the eyes are awesome. I got the pupils to be dark red by shading them with a black prismacolor. I must say, the mix of pencil and marker gets you a rather charming effect. I need a new black marker. -.- I bought the thing without looking at it's condition. The tips were worn down when I got it. And now the ink is starting to become finicky. ALWAYS check your markers before you buy them (I blame the idiots who write with them and don't buy them.) Meh, just my luck. But as soon as I get another 40% off coupon for Hobby Lobby, Sissy is going to buy me a brown, blue, green, and yellow. So I can just print out two and buy a black and a blender my bad self. Unfortunately, I doubt it's going to happen before my trip.
So, once again, this has been the 25th post.

Tuesday Tunes

Yay! I am a day ahead in this!
Yes, I did this yesterday. Quite simple. But I like it. I had to edit the saturation and whatnot of the scan cause the background came out WHITE... well, almost. So I got to get familiar with the location of the editing tools in preview. :) I really like this. The hair came out splendiferously, I messed up of the inking however, and did a few lines that shouldn't have appeared. -.- ohwell, I covered one with liquid paper, but forgot the other. This was all done in pen and pencil. Go look at the cover for the CD this song (which is the song for this week. it makes me happy) and I'll bet you'll find the idea for this picture. The Generous Mr Lovewell. Yupyup, happysong!
Now, I'm almost done the sketch for tomorrow, and I've done a sketch for next week last night. AND I am working on my technique for completely front faces! :D So expect quite a few looking-straight-at-you pictures. But for now, however, I need to go find a reference for the dress in tomorrow's picture, I can't find out how to make it look like she's sitting.

P.S. Splendiferous is an actual word, look it up!

Sunday Sketches (LATE)

YAY!
Actually, most of these were done on Saturday, but since I'm scanning/posting today, it counts. So, I didn't know what to do with the first few pages of the new book I got, so I decided sketches of characters I figured would pop up again could use a reference. I'm quite happy with how well the pokemon turned out this time. I need to get working on this idea I have for Wednesday... I really need to start working ahead on the weekends now that I've started school. I can't wait till next week. VACATION! woot. Maybe I'll work aheadahead of time so I can set up blogs to post while I'm away. OoooOOOo! I just realized I can do my Brokenheart with marker now! :D funfun.

So, I'm done tomorrows, I'll get started on the weird one after my clarinet lesson... and after I get off the computer. There were more sketches, but my scanner won't cooperate. So you get these girls again. VULPIXISSOCUTE!!!! >w< Anyways, I've finished tomorrows, but I need to get back to work... *sigh*

Flashback Friday

IGOTACOPICMARKER!!!!!!!!!
EEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
ITROCKS!
Sorry, back to english. I got my first copic marker. Red, because I want to eventually finish an all-marker piece of the Minstrel. It's AMAZING! The ink flows soooo smoothly! and you can see any pencilwork underneath. I can't wait, cause my sissy says she'll get me some more!!!! I spent only $4 on this one cause I had a coupon. They're expensive to get, but refills are only $1 a piece. Meh, I'm having trouble staying inside the lines, but I'm still getting used to the bleed length of this marker for the paper I'm using. Speaking of which, I was down to the LAST page in my sketch book, so I took my coupon to get a new one. I was half tempted to get marker paper because it is so smooth, but you only get 50 sheets for $10 and you get 100 for the same price of sketch paper.

....
oh yeah... I'm supposed to have art for you... I really didn't want to do a flashback today... So I'll post an update of that Minstrel I posted a while ago. I still need the colors for her eyes and hair, but she's colored for the most part.
asljfajcmzckn;rgn
the rainbow lines of DEATH got me.... -.- ohwell.

Thursday Three

I really had no clue what to do today, but Jenna gave me an idea, so I'm going to go with it. She gave me the suggestion to draw cats. But I am not all that proficient at drawing them, so I will be drawing girls with cats, to make it easier on poor little me. I'll probably end up uploading them tomorrow, but might get one done and up tonight.
....
I think I just learned an art lesson from a manga...... wow I need edumakation.....

Anyways, I will try to get those sketches done and ready to be posted be tomorrow, or done tomorrow. (I'm behind in things today.)

EDIT: Pictures got finished last night, thank goodness. I'm not all that happy with the last one, but it's fine. It was late, so give me a break. Here they are. Btw, if you want to scan TWO pages, make sure you turn the page before you scan a second time. >.< These are supposed to be of me and my kitty Shadow. Any cat owner should be able to relate to this.

Weird Wednesday

Sorry for missing yesterday. I got caught up reading 'Do Hard Things,' I'm going to make my sister read it when I'm done. So, yes, this is the angel of death I tried to do last Friday. She's a cutie, makes death not so evil looking! :D I know, I'm crazy. The big orb thing on her staff is for the containment of demons, and it also makes for a heavier swing. She has to deal with these guys a lot more than she has to be on assignment for people. AAAAHHHH, I just realized I forgot her poketwatch.... aw. She always has that on her, it lets her know when she needs to be somewhere. When she's on people retrieving jobs, she carries around a list of places she needs to be. As a character, she's quiet and thoughtful, doesn't really smile much, but she's just that way. Sorry for the sketchyness of the thing. And I kindof copped out on the wings. I wasn't really in the mood to go into all that detailing.... feathers have to be the most time consuming things to draw EVER. And she gave me issues with her bangs, so I'll probably have to drag her back out and fix these on a day I feel up to it. And the hands look way too small. BAH. Here's your picture, I'l go gripe about it elsewhere. :P (And no, I have nothing against human ears, pointy ones are just so much funner to do.)

EDIT: Just thought I'd tell you to look at this. It's beautiful!
