Supercalifragalisticexpialidocious

MARYPOPPINSYAY!!!!!
Far too excited, really. But it is Mary Poppins.
'Practically perfect in every way.'
I drew the fox! Not very good, I'll be fixing it in the meantime, but you get a screenshot of him for the road.
Not the most flattering screenshot, just for the record... Ah, well.
Apparently I'll be entering my Observatory in the contest. I may put the other out for display only, but it's not finished. And I don't know, I put far too much effort into the other to have it judged, I guess. I should know better than to put something up for judgement that I'm emotionally attached to. (Yes, you can get attached to these things. Makes it really hard to take criticism. And it burns when you work hard on something and it doesn't place. Not to mention the fact I don't take art classes sets me at a disadvantage.)
Well, I'll be watching my movie and filling in the forms.

SORRY (Monday)

AHHHHHHHHH
Today.
Sums up my head this morning.
Had quite a few screws loose when I woke up.
Sorry about not uploading that picture, I got the lazies. Horrible, and highly contagious.
Also, I tried to start a promise I made my sister (a full 24 page drawing book), but I messed up really bad on the very first page. The idea was nice, but the coloring was so bad and when I tried to fix it, it became steadily worse... so there will probably be only 23 pages. SORRY! I'll be sure to make every single page as awesome as I can to make up for it.
This means sketch AND ink.
Maybe color, but with how that's going so far, only partial can be guaranteed.
Ok, I'm scanning the promised sketch now.
Ohmanitlooksbadcomparedtotheotherone.
-sigh-
Well, it was a concept sketch...
My parents want the full color one to be framed... well, if they want to pay for it. Maybe I can get the marker I need for the other picture while I'm at it... but the 40% off coupon is only good through the 30th.
So, the picture... well, the character, is an observatory. The girl from the waist up is the telescope, and her hair can reflect the colors of nebulas as she chooses. It looks pretty bad here... Well, 'never closer than the moon' is an accurate description of her, she's constantly looking into space, projecting what she sees onto that big glass sphere she's 'holding.' You can also see stars reflected in her eyes, which have no pupils because I wanted more of the spaced out look and they make her look too focused.
Yeah... that's all I've got.

Stargazing (Friday)

Ok, so, the uncolored pic of the Observatory is now colored, but I'm thinking she may be a contest piece.
The other contest piece is nearly finished, just have to color the walls.
And replace one of the nibs (coloring tips) on my colorless blender. Turns out blending black colored pencil wasn't such a good idea... but it came out good. :)
Ooooo, yay. I'm getting pizza for dinner. YUM.
Oh rawr, it seems that Hobby Lobby may not have copic nibs. :( Oh well, I'll have pizza. Though I do need to go get a color, so I could take a look-see while I'm there. Till then, I'll have to think of a way to talk my parents into ordering them off amazon. You get 3-5 per pack, so it's not like I'll need them often. I'm seeing why the copics are cheaper. If that had been a prismacolor, I would've had to buy a whole new marker. Now I'll get 5 new marker nibs for any color I need! BWAHAHAHAHA. *coughcough* um, yes. Well, I'll put up the initial sketch of the obervatory later, for now I'm going to hunt for pizza.

Observatories and Polar Opposites (Wednesday)

...
Um.
Yes, well...
It's kindof hard to explain.
A while ago I was thinking... and I had the idea of a human observatory... so just recently I drew two pictures of her. One stands incomplete, as I need references I don't feel like hunting for.
The polar opposites is YinYang. She's one person in two personifications, one reflecting the chaos of worldly living and the other reflecting the church. Both are good and bad in their own ways. Yin; she expresses the ability to lead, but doesn't always know what is best for those she leads, and Yang, though she wants to live a faithful life, gets too easily pulled into the concerns of others and has a tendency to get deeply involved in politics. Yes, they are two bodies with two distinct personalities, and they are one person. Their appearances are nearly identical.
...
I may load some scans later, but I haven't done anything of YinYang.
And you know, I was given the impression that Yang was order and Yin was chaos, but when I looked it up in the online dictionary... let's just say I officially have no more a clue then before I looked it up....
Oh well.

Cartoony (Tuesday)

Wow, is Monday gone already?
Ugh, the days are passing me by.
I've recently fallen in love with Gunnerkrigg Court by Tom Siddell. Oh my goodness. Wonderful plotlines and a style that is so easy to enjoy. -.- My style needs to be more that. I want to start something like that. Would be lots of fun. I could use all of my own characters and redesign some classic fiction characters to suit my needs. Cause I'm lame and dislike normality. Why be stuck with the restrictions of this reality when you can simply choose another? Artfully speaking, of course. You can't change the fabric of reality itself, but you can create parallel dimensions that suit the needs of your imagination. I need a TARDIS chair really bad now. (If you don't know what the TARDIS is, you are seriously missing out.) Not saying that I need a chair that looks like TARDIS, but I need a chair I can sit in and travel to these parallel dimensions my brain seems to be full of. Pah, I need to find a drawing style I can be very consistent with to begin with.
Anyways, check out Gunnerkrigg Court, it's quite wonderful.

Consumed (Sunday)

Totally consumed by my contest piece.
Considering I don't have a lot of shades in marker, I'm having to use some prismapencils. It's... going... where, I don't really know, but I'll get it finished eventually.
So I probably won't be posting much, although, if I get a sketchy mood, I might upload a sketch page. Unlikely, though, cause this piece has me kindof obsessive. Need some more markers. I'm not going to post the piece until after the contest (because I'm all paranoid and things), but if I get it to a point where I feel I can leave the it-picking for later, I'll try and put up something halfway decent.
...
I don't know why I like this so much, but give the girl some love, she deserves it!
All of her stuff is insanely awesome. I know I'm not a big fan of digital art, but her characters are very well put together and very original. Gotta love them unique brainwavers. Wish I could be that fascinating.
Just for the record, the kid in the blue shirt is genderless, not a guy. -.- Otherwise I would not be showing you people this. Nor would I be a fan of hers. (Closet fan, but fan none the less.)
...
Not much else to say, really.
Happy Weekend.

Frankly My Dear... (Thursday)

I'll leave you to finish that sentence.
Lately I've been noticing the term 'Frank' being questioned.
So, my mind (being strange as ever), came up with the idea for a character.
He is called a 'state of mind,' so he's nowhere near being human, but he has a physical form. In his true form (he calls it ghosting) he can get people to speak their mind when they come in contact with him. He rarely does this, but occasionally he runs into people when he doesn't want to be seen by the general population. Some people can see him whilst ghosting, but it's hard to tell if they fall into a category that would specify who can and can't. I'll try drawing him later, but I just felt like sharing him and seeing if he would be a good idea. Oh, his name is Frank Jr., son of Frank Sr. Sr doesn't really like talking about Jr's mother, so we can't really say who she is.... Frankly, it's hard to tell when they're lying...

Mountain Tops to Valleys... (Tuesday)

...In Three Seconds Flat.
I think it's a record.
Really.
I had this incredible, joyous, mountain top experience and go right back to old Allie the moment I talk to one of my friends in theater.
Old habits die hard.

I've changed.
I'm letting you in on it.

And I hope you'll treat me as such, because I don't want to go back to old Allie, I want to hold on to this piece of mountain top for as long as possible. I want to live for God like I wanted to so badly Sunday evening.
I want to be a Light, a woman out to work to the glory of God and be so happy I could burst.
I know I'm asking a lot from y'all, but I need you to back me.
Devil's dragging me down from the inside out, and I refuse to go out without a fight.
Well, that's my bit for today.

Weird Wednesday

So, yes, I was thinking about vampires a day or so ago...
Came up with a rather interesting female vampire from Russia.
She has her own view on the world which we live in, particularly city folks.
Here's what I came up with while thinking her up:

'These mortals, so foolish. Wasting their lives away on worry, stress and fear. They appreciate nothing and want everything, their bitter hearts pumping worthless life into their weary veins. They resent their comfortable jobs, wishing they had it easy. When will they learn it's all for nothing? They came with nothing, they leave with nothing, so why even try? No, they just make a sour feast for those who go through the effort to hunt these miserable creatures.'

That's all I had, to be honest. She's a bit... pessimistic, as some would say. I think she's a bit of a realist. She lives on the fringes on society and stays nowhere long. She has a pretty good grasp on what people are like.
She amuses me greatly because of her attitude. While the other vampires are all about claiming territory, she just passes through like she owns the world. Not like anyone with sense would contradict her, but just the same. She had been born and Russia and she died there, she's been to the United States a few times, but she hates the people there.
I've been watching way too much 'Glen Beck,' I'm getting my own opinion about society. But really, I enjoy not feeling like an idiot. He treats you like you have a brain, and his saying is, "Do your own homework,' so I take him as honest. Once I get a break I'll start doing my own homework, and reading some of those books he recommended (now bestsellers).
Well, I hope you enjoyed my vampire's views.
Have a nice day.

Monday Update

Sorry about not updating, I've been lazy.
Nothing has really been going on around here. I'm getting a whole day of fall break. ya-hoo. Well, thought I'd tell y'all (cause I might not post again this week, stupid math) that I'm going on my Chrysalis Flight. =) I'm really excited/nervous.
What's a Flight?
Hmm, I don't really know, but it's a Friday-Sunday thing. It's a... Faith-building thing I guess. My sponsor (and youth minister) is supposed to be filling me in on what it is, but I think he's new at sponsoring (or just afraid to talk to me) so he's not really getting on top of things.
How do I know so much?
Oh yeah, my parents are heavily involved with the community that puts these things on, so I've actually heard stuff that goes on.
This Flight is teenage girls only. No guys. Whatsoever, but there may be a male minister there, but I really hope it's a woman. (Yes, there are such things)
There are Flights for guys, though. One for each gender once a year.
....
Ahhhhhhh. Sonervous!!!!!
I've nothing else to say....
Have a nice day.
