So Not Before Christmas...

But on it is close enough, right?
Hope you enjoy them.
---
I decided to do a cow picture for, well, today, and I've got the sketch done, but I haven't gotten any inking or coloring done.
I'm hoping to get it done before New year's, so let's see if I can meet that deadline.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Update and Christmas (Thursday)

Well, to start, both of my pieces placed in the Fine Arts festival. The one whose lineart is posted here got 2nd in polychromatic, and the monochromatic I did the night before we had to get the pieces framed got first. I'll try to get scans of them up here before Christmas.

And speaking of Christmas, I would like to do a festive piece this year, but I really don't know what to do. I would like some suggestions as to what to draw, so leave an idea in the comments and let's see what festive monst- I mean picture I come up with.

Coming Along (Saturday)

I started this around 5 and am done inking at 8, including dinner break.
I tried to draw something totally different, came up with this idea (for about the fourth time) and started drawing it.
Seeing as I'm this far already, I'm going to try to color it tonight.
Hope this goes well.
Go with God,
~Allie

EDIT: It's finished. I'm going to enter in the Fine Arts Festival. It looks really cool.
I like the style, I may try it again.

Chemistry Sketch Dump (Wednesday)

Because we don't actually take notes in our books.
I love my Chem class, the teacher rocks and (most of) the people who sit around me are smart.
Sorry they're all different colors, tried to get the lines as clear as possible with my scans.
First is a harpy (ignore bad anatomy), next is a sketch I'm currently working on of an elf warrior with a spear, next is another elf warrior (ignore badly done sword), and the last is the mutant unicorn thing I mentioned.
So, this would be my first sketch dump.
It's nicer than most of the work I usually post...
-.-
Yes, so.
Soon enough I'll get around to posting the pony fan art I've been wanting to do.
Started working on the characters, I think Rainbow Dash will be the first one, she should be pretty straightforward.
Still, may be a while before I devote time to anything.
Until then,

Project Updates (Monday)

Well, let's start with #2, because I've done little to no work on that one since last time.
---
I've worked on Maria's pose a bit, made the legs a bit longer, and have to fix the back leg because it's not in the right position (again).
Also sketched some of the planetoids from the Mario Galaxy levels in the sky behind her.
From memory, though, so I'll likely have to go back and fix them.
Honestly, I may have to start over on this one, because I want more background details and I really didn't leave room for them.
(The Dry Bones and Tweester feel neglected.)
May have to play those levels again to get a more accurate idea of what I'm drawing.
---
Now for #1
---
I've added the gulls, and just now sketched a sailboat that I'm going to copy in there.
I've already inked the girl in, but I need to get a solid reference for the cat's legs, they look a tad off.
Besides that, I've got markers for the ocean, and hopefully I won't have to go and get a new blue for the sky. (I'm running out of room in my box!)
Still thinking about what colors she should be wearing. My original thought was based off a peahen, brown for the dress with blue/green details, but that might make her blend into the background. Hopefully the weighted lines might make her stand out a bit more.
So, yes, inking is started, cat needs fixing, and colors are still being decided/collected.
---
In other news, been thinking about getting an air spray kit for the markers.
This'll let me get away with coloring things without putting an actual background! I hope.
Last time I saw, there was a little (cute) one on clearance, but I'm not sure if it's been sold. If it's there next time I go for markers, I'll likely get it.
Go with God!

What's Better Than 1 Project? (Wednesday)

TWO Projects!
...
Yeah, I'm pretty stupid.
...
Well, I took Jenna's advice and went with the ocean background on the first one.
All I need to do is draw in a sailboat and some seagulls and I'll be set to start inking.
-
In the meantime, I started this one.
Figured that I needed to draw Maria again, she needs the love.
So this is supposed to be one of the desert levels. I wanted to go for one of the round, planetoid Mario Galaxy levels, but I figured doing one of it's desert levels would be better recognized by the other Mario fans.
I'm going to add a Dry Bones in the background and maybe one of those tornados for interest.
...
I feel kind of sorry for Maria, I bring her back just to have her chased down by a Bullet Bill.
I'm going to have to fix her pose. A LOT.
This is why I get a ton of references off the internet for these kinds of things.
...
Ah, well.
I'll try to get inking the first one as soon as I can, tomorrow's looking to be an exciting day, I'll let you know after the fact, because I'm quite nervous that it won't actually happen.
Enjoy!
Go with God,
~Allie

P.S. Forgot to mention, the scanner completely butchered this. It doesn't like me nowadays. It cut off some of the left side of the picture, just so you know.

Project (Sunday)

I think my cat's planning to get out the window.
Not that she ever gets far, but still, getting a bit paranoid.
...
Oh, yeah. Picture.
Started this yesterday... or the day before...
It's a bit rough, but I'm happy with how the foreground is looking.
There is no background as of now.
I'm thinking a city-scape would make for a good skyline, but I'm also thinking it would be overly difficult to color for the time of day I want to do.
Any ideas?
Suburban area maybe?
Links and pictures are accepted as suggestions....
Want to start inking this soon!
Anyways, I do plan on making this full color, going to try to do most of the flats with marker and texture/shade with pencils.
Should probably practice on something else before I attack this one...
Anyways,
Go with God,

P.S. THIS. Look at it. I lol'd

Updates (Friday)

There's really not much to update.
I did a few unworthy-to-be-uploaded sketches, been either in class or at a football game, and have been applying for colleges.
Need to sign up for one later today, let's see if I remember to do so after theater rehearsal today.
...
My life should really be more interesting.
Hmmm
Thinking about starting a Featured page here.
To encourage me to post feature-worthy stuff. You know, finished work.
...
Yeah.
How often should I update it? Cause I'm thinking once a month should do it (since that's about how often I post).
Haven't drawn any video game based stuff lately... this should not be.
-.-
But I have been developing two characters!
One looks like a blind mutated unicorn, but still.
I like him.
So.
I'll get that feature page up and go see if there's any ideas I have lying around that's worth completing.
Go with God,
~Allie

Jo (Thursday)

It's painfully obvious how devoted I am to this blog.
-.-
Very.
I hardly post for not having anything good enough to post.
At least you don't have to keep looking at my stupid little scribbles and can always look forward to at least half-quality artwork coming your way.
Maybe next year, but still.
Quality above quantity, right?
Of course, you fools ought to demand more from me so I have reason to work.
Shame on you.

So yes, Jo is the dancer.
Although, she's technically a fighter and in the left drawing someone's about to get a magical girly kick to the head.
(For the record, I didn't use any references, so that's why she looks like she's accomplishing something physically impossible. We'll say it's cause she's an elf. Yeah, elf...)
She's slightly psychopathic, but fun to be around none the less.
She can juggle, dance, and summon a sword that's almost as tall as she is and use it well. She also uses fighting knives and hand-to-hand combat.
Her outfit is still in development, but I think the basic structure will remain the same.
Although, The Minstrel's outfit started out something like this.
Jo's The Mistrel's companion, if you didn't guess (cookies if you did).
Anyways, I have to empty the dishwasher.

Last Night... (Friday)

Last night I was tired, and ended up listening to Plum's cd 'Blink.'
If you've heard the entire cd, you know why I drew this.
...
So she's a Night Elf.
Sleeping.
...
Info Time!

Night elves are (kind of) a race I made up. They're pretty much black elves. They live in colonies with Day elves (you guessed it, they're white), but, unlike their name suggests, they are not naturally nocturnal (those are called Shadow elves). Most of them are awake during the day - except those with night duties- so the name is to distinguish between the two different colony members. Besides appearance, they differ from the Day elves in areas of expertise.

That's all I've got thus far.
Live with it.
I know there are mistakes in the picture, but I was tired, and they just weren't big enough problems for me to fix them now.
It's also very tilted, but I can live with that.
Go with God,
~Allie

Adjustments (Monday)

So here's some sketches.
I drew them while waiting for my classes to start in the back of my notebooks.
I'm kind of proud of the hummingbird (in case you were wondering what it was).
...
So yeah, the classes were of the dual-enrollment sort up at the community college.
I'm taking Calculus 1 and Chemistry.
My teachers are pretty cool thus far.
So I got up at 6:30 am so that I'd have time to get ready for class.
For the record, I usually get up around, uh, 9:00.
So I was really tired when I got home, but now I had a nap and caffeine and and aware enough to post this!
Yay!
Enjoy while I celebrate having survived my first day on campus.

Updates (Sunday)

I feel like I should be updating daily.
...
Though, I don't draw daily, and if I do it's not often worth posting.
...
My mom's going to order me some new ink.
My black marker's almost completely dry. It's sad.
...
Bah!
Feel free to request, I could use some inspiration.
Please comment here on the blog so they all end up together, I hate having to run around looking for them.
You might just get half a sketch, but whatever.

It's Here!!!! (Monday)

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
....
Actually, it got here Saturday, but I've been distracted.
...
Really nothing else to report.
Oh, the big arm on the side is so I can draw straight lines.
In this shot I'm using it to hold down my scribble paper.
Well, not scribble, just don't feel like using a notebook at the moment.
So, yes.
I'll try to churn out something that won't burn out your eyes soon.
Go with God,
~Allie

Downloading... (Tuesday)

Ok, so yeah.
Lots to process.
I'm leaning lots of new techniques that (I think) will help me get better.
It all depends on how much time I devote to it.
...
So, yeah. Lots to read, do, think, and (hopefully) accomplish.
I just pray that I don't lose my sanity somewhere between disheartened and 'I ought to get more schoolwork done.'
Yes, I know it's summer.
Go with God,
~Allie

P.S. I just thought of this. When I figure out how to draw them correctly, I want my favorite things to draw to be hands and expressions... they're really the same thing, but I want to love drawing them. That's all, go away now.

Ordered! (Friday)

YAY!
I'm seriously happy.
You have no idea.
Very excited.
My dad ordered me a new tool!
I love new things, I just sit there and play with them.
Christmas lasts all week for me, because I must spend adequate time to familiarize myself with each new thing.
EEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Guess what it is?
Just guess.
You'll get it wrong, but try.
....

....
He got me a drafting table!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
Well, he's going to use it some, but he says it's mostly for me.
eeeeeeee.
I want to pick out a neato chair for it.
Hope I can find one in a loud enough color.... would be disappointing if I didn't.
Or if I didn't get to pick it at all.
O.O
I WILL PAY FOR IT IF I MUST!!!
Plus, it needs to be adjustable. I require to be a certain distance from my work at all times.
...
Well, the main thing about the table is that the angle can be adjusted, which is great. After working from my lap, working on a flat, 90* angle surface skews my proportions.
...
ANYways.

Crystal Balls (Monday)

No, I don't have one.
-sigh-
Just have been thinking a lot about my future, and getting little accomplished.
...
Way too much for me to think about right now, my brain's about to mug me and leave me to die in some back alley. Which is odd, because the area is lacking in creepy, mug-worthy back alleys...
That's a good thing, really.

At least I've started school back part-time.
I have a somewhat distraction.

Also have money for music.
...
I have work to do...

Tulio (Thursday)

For those unfortunate enough not to know this character, it's Tulio from 'The Road to El Dorado.'
Great 2D movie, go watch it.
Now.
So, yes. I'm quite proud of this considering it was about my second (successful) try.
I get 15 seconds of patience and y'all get a movie recommendation and a picture.
Lucky you.
Yes, I do see all the problems with it, but hey, it's progress, and I like progress, thank you.
...
Now I need to see what I can do with it.
This isn't gonna be good.
-.-
Wish me luck.
I'm way too happy about this.

Oh My GOSH! (Wednesday)

O.O

...

I love this artist.
She's wonderful.
Talented.
Funny.
And she drew HIM.
O.O
Go and bask in his glory.
WOW.
I don't really know why I love this character design so much.

Really, I wish I had come up with this design first so I wouldn't want it so bad.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Now I want to do a total revamp (again) of my Prohibition characters.
Also need to give them new names, their personalities don't really fit them anymore.
Problem.
I'm trying new things.
ashdklvf;jdikv
This means I need to make sure I've got the hang of it before I try anything original.
*headdesk*
MEANwhile....
I've got nothing.
-.-
argh.
So, yeah.
Go with God,
~Allie

EDIT: Hey, yeah. I apologize for not warning about the bad language at the link. It's not mine, but... eh, whatever, I still like him too much to really care.

First Night Out (Thursday)

So, yes.
I've been out for a while.
I've finally gotten a fixative for myself. This means you might be seeing more pencil drawings.
Like this one.
Note how it has shading! And glowy effects!
I like it, but I need to get the curl out somehow.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Cause flattening it between books hasn't been working.
So, yes, I might post some more, but next week I'll be on a missions project, so maybe week after I'll have something to show you.
Go with God,
~Allie
P.S. The title for this was chosen because I've got half a story in my head and this could be an illustration for it.

Marching in 4 (Saturday)

Again, no arts today.
Sorry, I just spent the past two days in band camp.
According to my teacher, three weeks of lessons crammed into those two days and we did really good.
I took no pictures, cause I was busy playing, marching, and breathing.
I may try to draw The Minstrel in some of the stances.
So yes, I'm very proud of myself.
I learned to breathe. Yes, it is a very important lesson. Makes you yawn a lot. If you're doing it right.
I had to re-learn my embouchure. That took some getting used to. But I know what I need to get for my clarinet! New reeds by Vandoren. Woot! Maybe I can get a new reed case too.
All in all, marching-wise,  we came to tension, parade rest, band horns up, mark time, forward eight steps, back two steps, left turn in four, and, finally, right turn in four.
I know what you're thinking. Gee, that sounds easy, I do those things every day! (For those of you who walk backwards regularly.)
Try doing that while rolling your feet, at attention, counting off, left foot first (always), and keeping in your spot in the block.
Oh and, by the way, you can't look at your feet.
Yeah, now it's all clear why it takes so long to learn.
Now I have some brilliant ideas which may or may not bring grief to people I know.
Mwahahaha!
...
Don't worry, it'll be for the good of everyone.
Trust me.
Go with God,
~Allie

Forewarning (Saturday)

Because I'm a lazy bum and need something to focus on during my school down-time.

So, I feel like I need to start working on my contest pieces.
Yes, yes, the competition is in November, but I like having ideas in a form I can tinker and play with for a while.
So, yes. I'm going to be posting concept sketches and I would really appreciate some feedback on them so I can get a feel for what's a good direction to go in.
I'd like to do some sets, where there's two pictures with characters sort of 'interacting' with their expressions and positioning and backgrounds and whatnot.
I'll try to start working on those soon.
Oh, and I think I'll be opening requests around the end of the month, maybe the first of June.

Overdose (Wednesday)

So, yes.
I had a bad day yesterday.
You people shouldn't let me think, because when I think, I start hating on myself.
So I had a little pity-party yesterday and am still a little hung over this morning.
Going to Physics cheered me up, though.
Gave me hope to attempt an art class this summer.
One of my friends said her teacher taught techniques and let the students use them as they pleased.
...
GAH, I should've asked where she took it.
-.-
Ah, well.
I think I'm better now.
By the way, the doctor is new.
I just drew him and he didn't look the way I wanted so I changed him up a bit.
Now I have a doctor for my mind. Something tells me he'll be busy this summer.
I've been playing with foreshortening...
And hands... I think I'm getting better at hands...
Oh, that's a soda bottle in front of me. I didn't write on the label.
Sorry.
Go with God,
~Allie

Wow (Monday)

Two posts in a day.
That's a record.
I just had enough to say, I guess.
Anyways, I just drew this and thought I'd upload it before next week.
Trying new techniques, so it's a bit ... off.
But I liked it, so its ok.
I don't have a name for her yet, but she's got her own story.
And she's married, but I need to draw him too.
I really like the hair. If I can get this technique done for light colored hair, I'd be rockin and rollin.
...
So about the requests...
When they finally open, post your requests on the latest blog.
I check the newest one daily, so I'm likely to catch it.
...
That is all.
Go with God,
~Allie

Gretel (Monday)

Yeah, I really only liked the face on this one.
So, story time.
A while ago (and a bit recently) I had to play Gretel in a play. I am very much not the person I portrayed, so I dreamt up a gangster-style version of her.
She turned into a vain little twit of an assassin.
I found an initial sketch of her in my old sketchbook.
-shudder-
I don't know if I should be relieved I'm better now, or burn the book for fear it might be used to emotionally scar young children.
...
ANYways.
I'm semi-officially on summer break!
YAY!
I'm going to try to make a page you can post requests on later so I'm not going here, there and everywhere to find where you post them.
So, yes, requests aren't open yet, but they will be soon...ish.
Or not.
I'll decide later.
I'm thinking of redoing some old stuff for now.

Interesting (Monday)

Ok, so THIS is what happened this weekend.
I told her I'd post it myself, but I got lazy, and she did it better than I can.
-.-
Not kidding.
Once we get this insulation done, I'm taking a knife to go pick up the next one.
So, during that craziness (as she said) we watched 'The Phantom of the Opera.' I. Love. This. Movie.
I love Raul and Christine, and I love the Phantom.
Christine's a jerk.
At the end he's sitting there all sad and pitiful and she just hands him something and WALKS AWAY!
WHO?!?!?!
I mean, seriously.
WHO could walk away without giving him a hug?
Really now, I had a mini-rant about her unfeelingness towards him after that scene.
So, yes.
Expect something related to my currently Phantom-obsessed mind to pop up sometime soon.

Floaty Hair (Thursday)

The one on the left is mine.
Tis called 'Shallow Grave,' in case you were wondering.
Yes, she's dead.
The one on the right was done in physics by my friend.
I hope she doesn't mind I put it here.
It just rocks.
And she rocks too!
I promise colored stuff will come soon.
These will not be the last art cards you see.

All I Have To Show For It (Wednesday)

I went to a 'Youth Council Meeting' at church.
I was one of two youth there.
...
I drew this near the end of the meeting.
It's really sketchy and you can barely see it here, but I really only worked on the girl.
She's supposed to be an angel, but, you know, really sketchy. I didn't want to cover the dress.
A friend and I might paint this. Cause she's awesome.
She'll have to do the background, though. I don't like doing backgrounds because I'm bad at them.
...
I bought some art cards.
Don't really know what I'm going to be doing with them... but I'll probably give them away.
Apparently there are rules and such to doing these things.
They look like fun, at least.
I'm getting the hang of how to use the fancy stick figures.

Nothings (Wedesday)

Sorry, no arts today.
Feel free to disregard this post.
I'm simply writing because I only posted once last month and feel bad for you people who are getting your less-than-necessary amount of me recently.
So........
Update!
I have a cold. Bleh.
Got two new books with money I got from a contest at my orthodontist.
And I still have money to buy art supplies!
Yay.
I'm sick.
-.-
I've been practicing poses using fancy stick figures.
Been drawing more from life... sorta.
Just.... bleh... whatever.

Insanity (Saturday)

Insanity may be relative, but I'm about ready to lose it.
rawr.
I went to England for 9 days and come back to a production in a week and the ACT on the SAME DAY AS THE PERFORMANCE.
o.o
So please forgive the lack of arts as I'm prepping for this week.
SO ready for spring break.
Very much.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I might throw art at you later, too busy going crazy right now.
Really ought to go to bed.

Been a While (Monday)

I should be doing schoolwork, but this didn't take long.
The first in the original, the second is the one I digitally altered.
All I did was add shadows and highlights.
Pretty simple, used the mouse and didn't even break a sweat.
Considering I have a limited color palette, I accept this kind of digital work. I mean, I don't have the 135454313743474396 colors it takes to shade properly, so WHATEVER. I'll color everything I can and do the shading/highlights on the computer... unless I feel like putting effort into it.
I will inform y'all every time I use the computer to shade/highlight.
You know, I really don't like it, but it's ok for playing around with.
I needed to blend the shadows more.
-.-
You have to admit, though, it's not bad for a first try.

Supplies Necessary (Thursday)

So, yeah, I need to get paper.
...
I hate this, working with no results.
I don't know why I even try these days, no good ever comes of it.
Yes, most of this post will be a pity-party and random thoughts about what I need to do, so I give you permission to disregard this post.
Have a nice day.

---

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Ever get that feeling that the whole world's conspiring against you?
Yeah.
It must be.
Because quite frankly, if the world didn't give me so many issues, the little stuff wouldn't be a problem.
So I need paper, but more importantly I need to shake off this artblock/incompetence/laziness/unmotivatedness/stupidity/lack of confidence thing I've got going here.
I mean, I don't even want to draw these days.
=|
I'm not satisfied anymore. Nothing I do is good enough. Every time I look at someone else's work I just get more disappointed than inspired, because I feel I'll never be as good.
Maybe I've been trying too hard to be good than thinking about being original.
Then again, when I think I'm good enough I want to create something new and exciting.
I really don't care how many of you say I'm good, in response I'm always thinking 'I'm not as good as they are.'
Maybe I've been focusing too long on drawing.
Maybe I should try painting, or pastels, or charcoal.
Maybe I should try drawing landscapes, buildings, or animals.
Maybe I should just quit.
I do need to focus more on school, but I don't want to work on that either these days. Well, I always think school's boring, but I've felt less inclined to put effort in.
I just know any art teacher would hate me.
I want to do what I want when I want to do it, and I really don't care.
Even most of the projects I set for myself have never been finished.
I have a lot of things to consider.

Slowly But... Slowly (Monday)

FAR too slowly.
...
I've found I've been thinking far too long about drawing other's characters, and so therefore will be inventing more of my own.
I will also be thinking of recreating the 'me' character.
Frankly, I'm far too boring outwardly to be seen as the great intellect I am. (Laugh and you will die a slow and painful death involving rope, plastic spoons, and hot lava.)
So yes, expect to see the Minstrel again, considering she's the only character I consider mine.
I'm developing her more so that she has a personality.
I've also got a male character in the works, I haven't quite decided who he is yet, so you'll have to wait.

Friendly Little Artblock (Sunday)

So yes, that image pretty much sums up what I've been dealing with right now.
Every time I reach from a pencil it bites my hand, crippling it.
That's the reason there's been no arts.
I've got a feeling that this means style changes are on the horizon. It's never a pretty and smooth road to take.
-sigh-
And for those of you out there who thinks artblock is laziness, SHUT UP.
-.-
For me, artblock means that I cannot, under any circumstances, draw well.
So, like many others, I choose to simply wait it out. I refuse to play its little game.
I will now, hug my cat, read a book, and play videogames until Monday.

Valentine's Day (Monday)

I was browsing Deviantart, and saw all of this sappy Valentine's day stuff.
So I thought of drawing my heart-eating demon to celebrate the day.
I didn't feel up to the task of drawing her actually eating a real heart, so I came up with the idea of her being a Pacman eating little hearts.
:)
Then I tried to actually draw her, then I got distracted, so I drew a cute little girl-monster instead.
Some tongue she's got there, huh?
And the little version of her is supposed to be proportions, but her arms are way too wide.
I thought of adding hair, but thought it'd be better without.
:)
So, yes. Today you get demons and monsters. Happy Valentine's Day.

Get It? (Tuesday)

-.-
This happens.
Every time.
Either someone doesn't get it and I must explain (because they do not read the actual POST) or they will question my motives.
-.-
So, yes.
Don't be ignorant, listen to what the artist has to say.
^.^
Makes the world go round.
I tried to make the image clearer, but I think I'll have to go back over them with Prismacolors from now on. They scan better.
Should really get back to work on my story...

Details, Details... (Monday)

I hope you can read this.

PLEASE.
Tell me I'm not the only one who notices this?
You don't have to tell me you always imagine this happening, because, quite frankly, if you were that much like me, I'd be worried for your sanity.
I mean. Come. On.
Really?
These are the women you think went on quests?
O.x
No, I've not drawn the girl in the last frame before, but I wanted a girl who was an antithesis of the first.
Seriously.
Putting a girl who dresses like that on a quest would be nothing but a burden. If I had to take her, I'd marry her to a foreign king/prince ASAP.
-.-
Well, I hope you enjoy.

Yes, it's (Saturday)

I drew this at a sleepover.
It was a ten-minute sketch with some ink and color. I like the shading on the dress.
Well, other than the sleepover, my sissy's home. :)
And her friend sent her with a nice, full-sized sketchbook. Used, but whatever, got plenty of paper in it.
I've been meaning to get one, but turns out good does come to those who wait.
I got two new markers today. A light pink and a very light grey. Cassie took me to the store where we ran into friends.
Yeah, that's about it.
Scrapbooking pens are great for detailing.
Don't ask about the position or the dress, I just wanted to try the effect to see if I can still proportion legs to a body. I'll let y'all be the judge of that, cause I'm undecided.

Monsters in the Castle 3 (Thursday)

The little prince cried hysterically. “But it was there! I saw it, right over there!” “That’s the wall dear, no monsters can come through the wall,” his nurse soothed, trying to get him back to sleep. It was very late, and it had been a long day for the little prince’s nurse. “You didn’t see it, it was really scary!” The nurse shushed him and replied gently, “All right, if you see the monster again, close your eyes and say a prayer, when you open your eyes again, the monster will have left.” The boy nodded and calmed. His nurse bid him goodnight once more and left him alone again.

The little prince was restless, and woke several times. The monster was in his dreams, and once, when he woke with a start, he saw that face again. He squeezed his eyes shut and prayed for it to go away. He peeked through one eye to see that the monster had gone. He was quite nervous for the week following, and several times saw the face out of the corner of his eye as he went about his daily routines. As he grew older, he saw the monster less and less. Though he couldn’t sure, he thought there had to be at least two of them.

On his twelfth birthday, the prince woke up late. He stared at the ceiling over his bed for a while smiling. Today he was going to have a big party, eat all of his favorite foods, see all of his friends, and get to open all the presents that had been arriving over the past week. Then he heard it. The noise had woken him. He’d almost forgotten about it. He slowly sat up, trying to pinpoint where the noise was coming from. There it was again, coming from beneath him. He got out of bed and knelt down. Lifting up the bed skirt, he peered underneath. All he saw was a great pair of eyes looking back at him. They seemed quite as shocked as he was. Suddenly, as if just realizing what he was looking at, he shrieked and run full-speed out of his room. His attendant looked under the bed while he cowered just on the other side of the door. There was nothing there.

So, I posted the first two paragraphs with the third.

I just wanted you to see how it's going so far. I'm not really sure I like the choppiness of it, but it's just how it's coming to me. And don't worry, he stays 12 for like... 4 whole paragraphs.

Grudgeling (Wednesday)

Introducing
GRUDGIE!
The grudgeling.
If you're not in drama, you don't get it, but you can enjoy the cuteness anyway.
:)
Why yes, that is a rear view of Grudgie.
Watch This. It's cool.
I'll get back to the story tomorrow, I want to work on it more today.

Since you requested more, you get the next paragraph.
This is turning out to be a very short story.
I'll likely not post another paragraph until I'm happy with how it's going, but illustrations may pop up next if I get around to them.
Have a nice day.

So, yes.
I've got an idea.
I'm gonna try to write it.
Maybe try to do some illustrations for my ideas
Let's hope I don't give up or change my mind.

Faith (Saturday)

Yes, I'm a Christian.
Yes, I do feel sorry for non-Christians, simply because they do not know my God the way I do.
Yes, I do go to church every Sunday.
Yes, I do wear modest clothing.
Yes, I believe in forgiveness and Grace.
Yes, I believe anyone can be saved.
Yes, I'm a Methodist.
Yes, I do feel distant from God sometimes.
Yes, I have questions about my faith.
Yes, I believe everyone else is entitled to disagree with me.

No, I do not believe preaching about hellfire and brimstone will make anyone come to the cross quicker, in fact I myself shut down and stop listening when it's brought up.
No, I don't like being hit with the same piece of Scripture when it's clearly not answering my question.
No, I don't read my Bible every day, though I feel I should.
No, I don't believe you have to be baptized in order to be saved.
No, I do not approve of homosexual relationships.
No, I'm not homophobic.
No, I don't believe you should have sex outside of marriage.
No, I don't believe I'm 'better than you.'
No, I don't think people should get flamed for having doubts/questions/concerns/opinions/or anything that may rub you the wrong way.
No, I don't think you're right just because you think you are.

Yes, I'm a Christian, and
No, I'm not conforming to this world or your opinions.

---

Just felt like doing this.
Showing that I don't stick to the standard. Honesty is refreshing, isn't it?
Just for the record, if you're going to tell me that I'm wrong,
SAVE IT,
I don't care.
I do, however, accept positive comments, and if you agree with anything above, go ahead! I like it when I find people with similar opinions. Gives us things to talk about.
If I get any comments telling me 'this is why your opinion is wrong' it will be promptly deleted or, if you're commenting on Buzz, the post will be deleted and no one else will get to comment because you were ignorant.
=D
Glad we're all on the same page now.

Family Life Skills (Monday)

It'll do that to yah.
I really hate this book.
My mom hates it too, she's finding me a new one, in the meantime, I'm going to be covering the chapter on finances.
So, yes, at every turn I feel like I'm expected to act like the 'stereotypical woman.'
You know, the one who thinks that getting married and making babies is the only thing in the world worth living for?
...
Yeah, sure, I want to get married. If that's what God calls me to do.
He may call me to be single.
YES THAT CAN HAPPEN TO A GIRL.
-.-
I know a girl who's been called to be single, and been called into the mission field.
YES, you model of ignorance, a woman can be a missionary without a husband.
All I'm saying is, is that I really just want to live my life the way God wants me to live it without being under all this pressure to be the 'Biblical' Christian woman.
...
(Just for the record, it's the scan, not the drawing that's crooked.)

100th Post!!! (Thursday)

WOOOOO!
*lotsaconfetti*
100!
I made it to 100 posts!
Who'd've thought?
And in commemoration, I'll tell you the mystery guy currently sitting in the D of my Drama folder cover.
...
Ready?
You sure?
All right..
Here we go...
...
You sure?
Ok,
Now for..!
...
waitasecond...
Ok,
Now for..!
...
Am I making you mad yet?
Ok,
I'll stop now.
The guy who has been driving you crazy (anna) is none other than King Caspian from The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader!
I still blame you for not knowing who he was.
-.-
This has been the AllieCat Creations' 100th post!

New Cover (Wednesday)

YAY!
New cover!
Tis spiffy.
I'll give you one more shot, who's the new guy?
I won't blame you if you don't know. *points blame anyway*
Ignore the floor color, I know it's bad, but last time I used that technique was for a night sky. (SO much black.)
And my (yes, that's me sitting in the 'a') eyes are dark, because I accidentally started coloring them with my new dark red. I tried to cover for it with like 3 layers of dark brown.
...
Why yes, that is a man in a fez and bowtie having a staring contest with The Goose.

Progress (Monday)

I'm making the new cover.
I would've scanned it if I hadn't started coloring already. It has to be color or lineart. The End.
So you get the old one!
I still like it, but I wanted a new one.
It meets the requirements, follows the old theme with the background and letters (let's face it, twas a good idea.)
There's also a new, never-before-drawn-by-allie character on there.
Figure out who it is and I'll give you a cookie.
:)
Hint: He's a seafarer.
So! In this one there are (from top to bottom, left to right);
The Master
Allie
Adam
The Doctor (10)
Katelyn
The Goose
The Doctor (11) (Don't ask, just watch the show)

And this be the end of my post!

Update (Sunday)

So, yes.
I've been lazy.
Mostly been trying to get back into the swing of school and such, but snow got in the way and shut down the city for a few days.
...
I finished 'The Picture of Dorian Grey.' It was so wonderful I'm reading it again to make sure I didn't miss any of the goodness.
...
Ashley's gonna say I'm weird for liking this book so much.
I really do.
...
I was doodling during a church meeting and now I've been charged with designing a t-shirt logo for a fundraiser.
I still want to design a t-shirt for theater, but I don't think my ideas would be liked.
And I'm not sure if I have the name of the play right.
ugh
I should know these things.
...
I want to redo my theater folder cover.
I could make it look better now that I have markers.
I'd have to use white construction paper...
It's requirements are 2 Doctors, 1 Master, Me, and The Goose.
GO!

Individual (Wednesday)

Individuals.
Everyone is thought of as an Individual, or would like to be thought of as such.
Are we an Individual,
Or are we simply the thoughts and ideas of others, put together in such a way as to be thought of as 'unique?'
Impressionable.
The age at which, some would say, is one's greatest time of learning.
Do we truly learn,
Or do we simply absorb what others want us to know in the way they want us to know it?
Impress.
To push an idea upon.
To Impress an idea to the Impressionable in such a way that it is accepted and carried out.
Impress your own personality onto an Impressionable,
To live through them.
Control.
To influence.
To keep one Impressionable so that you may Control their behavior.
Keep the Individual from coming to light.
Lies.
We know what is Truth.

---

So, yeah. I've been reading 'The Picture of Dorian Grey' and am simply fascinated by this book. It made me wonder these things, so I typed them up all pretty.
I really don't know what kind of writing this is, so if you know, I'd like to put a name to it.
I hope it speaks to someone.
Or makes someone scratch their head and actually think.

Starting Over (Saturday)

Yes, I'm crazy, but do you see the problem?
I was trying to put the outline of the face on and it wasn't right. No matter how I tried, it didn't fit.
I did some measurements using the tip of my pencil as the measure (the drawing was supposed to be twice the size of the reference). The eyes were the right size, but the nose was too long. So I marked off where it should end.
Now his face looked fat.
Why?
I measured the eyes again.
Fine.
I then measured between the eyes.
They were one length too far apart.
...
This is what I get for finding out how to measure after doing the eyes and nose.
I really can't fix it, it's best just to start over.
It was a learning experience.
I need to get to work on requests.
Just a warning, requests will be closed as of Monday, when I'll be starting school back.

I really hope I get to finish this some day.

Coming Along (Friday)

Just thought I'd update on my redo of Ben Barnes.
It's coming along.
Better than last time. I'm being uber careful.
I've got the eyes, nose, and mouth done for the most part. I'll probably be fixing the mouth as I go along. (I finally found a way to make it look like the ref.)
Oh, and I tossed my block eraser at the cat because she was being stupid, and when I went to go pick it up a few minutes later it was gone.
...
Wait for it...
...
Mazie ate it.
Yup, my dog ate my eraser.
I'm telling you, if she's not supposed to have it, she'll find it and try to eat it.
The two of them were fighting over a piece of piping earlier.
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHugh
This means I have to go buy a new one.
-.-
The eraser, not the pipe. That managed to survive the assault. (Will have to ask my dad about it tomorrow, may be important.)
And the roads are supposed to be iced over starting Sunday.
Guess I'll have to make do with the kneaded.
Keep it locked up so that it doesn't get eaten too.
-sigh-
At least the picture is coming along.

Realization (Thursday)

It took me two years of realism lessons to realize I hated it.
-
It took five years of playing around with cartooning (no lessons) to learn anatomy.
-
And it took one pretty face to get me wanting to do realism again.
...
I am such a loser.

Just thought I'd let y'all in on that.

Eye Love Shading (Wednesday)

See?
It's punny.
I know I said I'd take a break before I started to re-work that picture, but I have a HUGE notebook with amazing paper which doesn't bleed marker ink.
=3
I loves it.
The main reason behind this scan was to test how well the shading comes through.
I'm going to have to finish this with black prismacolor, otherwise you'll miss all the pretty details I tend to kill myself over.
I'm taking my time with this, unlike last time.
I love shading, really, I do. It fleshes out everything so well.
Back to work with me then.

WHYAMIPOSTINGTHIS?!?!? (Tuesday)

*twitchtwitch*
This was supposed to be Ben Barnes, but.... I ran out of paper...
His face is too short the lips are ugh and the technique I used for the hair would be better used for tall grass.
I guess it's not bad for my first serious realism in 5 years...
Then the scanner kills it. @.@
Not my day.
The first is the reference I used, so you can just look at that and ignore the one I drew.
I'm going to try this again later on a much bigger sheet of paper.
Later.....yeah
I'm getting myself marker paper tomorrow.
And more markers.
I finally have money.
I'm going to go look at colors and make a list of what I want.
*twitchtwitch*
Why did I post this?
