More Dragon! (Sunday)

Drew this during church today.
(I'm such a good little Christian.)
Really liked it, so here you go, a fire dragon.
Oh, and I got Monday and Tuesday off, so maybe even MORE dragons to come y'all's way.

Dragon Transformations (Saturday)

Well, two of them at least.
These are just sketches I worked on during class, the top ones turned out pretty good, but I'm still pretty undecided about how the bottom one is actually going to look.
It's very light, I apologize.
The first one on the top should've had curlier hair than that, but I like the middle one a lot.
...
On a different note, I've got an idea for a summer project.
A big one.
So big, I may need others to help me with it.
I'm trying to get feedback from one person before I ask the others, because I've already promised I'd work with her, and don't want her to have to be stuck working with people she doesn't want to.
So, that's all I'm going to say of it at the moment, but I will let y'all know as soon as I get some answers from people.
...
And on yet another note, I've got kind of half a spring break coming up (maybe, if my mom lets me take off a few days) next week, so maybe I'll clean up a sketch or something to get posted.
And I have more things to do regarding graduation, so I ought to get to work on that too.

Chemistry Sketches (Saturday)

If you though I'd stop doing these, you were sadly mistaken.

As you can probably see, I had to crop some things out.
...
Yeah, kind of went on a drawing spree between lecture and lab.
If you don't get it, don't ask, because I haven't worked it all out myself.
And I would recommend that the sensitive in the audience not read what's written there.
The girl's a bit complex because of the way I thought the transformation was going to work before I really got into this, so there's excess lines everywhere. The rune-looking things on her arm are a tattoo, and not the one related to this particular ... ability. (And really, those are just a placeholder, I want something less detailed to go there.)
...
You know, I don't think I've posted anything about this character here before.
I'll have to look into that.

Roger (Wednesday)

I was going to put something morbidly witty about Mr Roger's Neighborhood... but I just couldn't bring myself to.
Some people can do that sort of thing, but not me.
So, I drew Roger at a friend's house. She was working on a really neat detailed realism piece and I drew... this.
Wish his tail looked better.
Overall, though, I think he looks cool.
So, yes, enjoy Roger; he likes following people home, so you ought to enjoy him while he's with you.

---

Meantime, I'm working on an art project, just something I thought of. I'm taking pictures, but I won't be posting anything until it's (successfully) completed.
So if it's ruined, you'll never hear of it again.
...
I go now.
Go with God,
~Allie

End-of-the-Month (Monday)

Seeing as I haven't posted since the beginning of the month, I figured giving an update to close it out would be ... informative...?
...
Ok.
February has pretty much always been the month from hell for me.
Seriously.
It's after Christmas break, and school is finally starting to pick up, and now that I'm graduating I have all this stuff that's due... TOMORROW.
So, no pictures today, because... well, I had something, but either the scan is really bad, or the drawing is.
I'm going to say the drawing is.
I'll try to redo it and see if it comes out anywhere near where I need it to be.
Seeing as I'll be (very) busy tomorrow, then for the rest of the week, I'll likely not get it done, but look for something maybe around/after the weekend.
I'm trying to redo some of my original characters; I've quite grown out of their old designs... and so have they.
Tis a difficult concept to explain, really, but I'm sure someone gets it.
Maybe I'll dig up a little something I haven't posted if I find time Wednesday.
Ah, well.

~Allie

Antagonist Love (Saturday)

Oh my.
Yes, indeed this is.
TWO posts in TWO days in a row!
-gasp!-
The artist is actually doing something!
...
I have a free weekend.
No homework!
...
sortof
So, here they are!

Here he is!
Ghirahim!
YAY!
I still need to practice him, but for a character that's not mine, he's not that bad looking!
He's (in my opinion) the central antagonist of Skyward Sword and amazingly psychotic.
Love fighting this guy.
Anyways, the picture I'd talked about yesterday... I don't like it today.
So that's going to stay hidden in my computer's archives.
This, however, I drew today.
I've had the idea for a while.
That's not Link, that's me. I always feel the need to put myself in the character's place because... well, if I had it my way, some cutscenes would've ended differently.
Much differently.
I mean, there might have been some amiable, witty dialog between Ghirahim and I before our epic battles.
So yeah, he's waiting patiently for me to heal so he can beat me up some more.
And I'm complaining about how much he weighs.
I was going to add a fairy in stead of a bottle, but since fairies are balls of light with wings, I was not about to attempt that.
...
So, yes, enjoy my drawing spree while it lasts, because I bet once the weekend is over I'm not going to be drawing much (as per my usual).
Should really start putting a signature or something on these, nowadays I'm getting paranoid someone's going to steal my artwork...
I'll have to see if i can get a watermark with the new editing program I have...
Go with God,
~Allie

Dragons! (Friday)

So, I'm trying out the new blogger system.
Looks kind of nice.
...
You really don't want to hear about that.
Anyways, a few things have changed in regards to my workspace (mainly, where my computer is relative to the scanner I use), and so I was a bit ... apprehensive about getting my work here.
But, my lovely scanner pulled through and got me a few scans done without me having to trek across the house a few times.
So here's a trio I've been thinking about.

DRAGONS!!!!
yay
Wow, of all the creepy things I draw, you'd've thought I'd drawn dragons by now.
Anyways, This is Water, Earth, and Fire.
The Water's human form is pretty set right now, I just need to nail down a dragon form (just look at that neck, it looks broken!).
Earth is still deep in the works right now, the antlers and face is pretty much all that I'm liking thus far.
Fire came along pretty well, but I'm still working out some kinks in her wardrobe and her dragon's ... accessories.

I also got a decent Ghirahim scanned, but...
I wrote... near him...

and...

well...

you know...

it's...

um...

OK!
I like him, I think he's hot.
Sue me. I dare you.
-.-
That's just a forewarning of what's written there.
Mind you, I'm not one of those idiot fangirls who likes his design and not his (amazing) happy-maniac-stabby personality.
I mean seriously! How can you not love someone who takes great joy in beating the snot out of you?!
And I manage to take great joy in being able to beat the snot out of him, so... we're... even...
...
You still think I'm weird.
Well, for those of you who are new, go look through some of my posts, you'll see that I'm fairly consistent.
Plus... he's got a cool sword... two at one point...
Nevermind, I'm going to go... do something... maybe play Skyward Sword some more....
Go with God,
~Allie

Does Anyone Know? (Sunday)

Because I most certainly don't.
...
Know what?
What to do, of course!
Really now, you ought to know that.
...
Ok, ok, here's the deal.
I've been doing a whole lot of nothing lately.
Well, not nothing, but no artwork. You see, school and playing Hero Mode in Skyward Sword has pretty much taken over my life right now.
However, I did manage to get a halfway decent trial sketch of (the AMAZING) Lord Ghirahim, so I may try and draw a full-blown something of him to post here. (No promises, though.)
I have been thinking, however.
I currently am using desktop backgrounds of not my invention, so I thought I may try my hand at making one of those... or four... ok, just two, because those are usually the only spaces I use.
I need to find out what size my monitor is so I don't have to stretch any of my artwork.
...
But what to do?
It pains me to think that I might work on something, then get tired of seeing it day after day.
Tis a conundrum...
Ah, well. I need to go see if we've any plans for dinner...
I wish to eat...
Go with God,
~Allie

Old Things New (Tuesday)

Yep, I went back in my files and redid the first picture I posted here.
And yes, Ariel does have an orange tail.
Face it, whoever planned her original color combination must have been out of their mind. I mean really, that red hair, with a green tail, and a purple top? You can't be serious.
Plus, almost every other mermaid's tail matches their hair, so why shouldn't hers?
I'm glad I've improved...
By the way, the scanner mauled this. The skin is all nice and shaded and here she just looks...ill.
Meh, I need to get a better quality scanner.
And a lot more markers... I think I'm going to end up blowing all my Christmas money on art supplies... and I'll have to check what kind of scanners are out nowadays...

~Allie

Pirate (Tuesday)

Yeah, this is a sketch from last semester, but I had it scanned, so...
Here it is.
(May upload today's sketch tomorrow...)

Sorry!

Yes, I know I said I'd color it, but I really wasn't sure how.
Then I didn't devote any time to it, so...
Yes, I like him.
He is not a yak (as some idiot might think), he's a Highlands Longhorn.
There's a few issues with it, but he's cute overall. Again, sorry he's late and unfinished, but with school starting, I'm not likely to be finishing any projects.
However!
Since I drew so much before Chemistry last semester (and I'm taking Chem 2 this semester) I'll likely copy my sketches on the days I have class, so look forward to irregular updates on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
Go with God,
~Allie
Also, I will be changing the eye-burning theme I've got here...

So Not Before Christmas...

But on it is close enough, right?
Hope you enjoy them.
---
I decided to do a cow picture for, well, today, and I've got the sketch done, but I haven't gotten any inking or coloring done.
I'm hoping to get it done before New year's, so let's see if I can meet that deadline.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Update and Christmas (Thursday)

Well, to start, both of my pieces placed in the Fine Arts festival. The one whose lineart is posted here got 2nd in polychromatic, and the monochromatic I did the night before we had to get the pieces framed got first. I'll try to get scans of them up here before Christmas.

And speaking of Christmas, I would like to do a festive piece this year, but I really don't know what to do. I would like some suggestions as to what to draw, so leave an idea in the comments and let's see what festive monst- I mean picture I come up with.

Coming Along (Saturday)

I started this around 5 and am done inking at 8, including dinner break.
I tried to draw something totally different, came up with this idea (for about the fourth time) and started drawing it.
Seeing as I'm this far already, I'm going to try to color it tonight.
Hope this goes well.
Go with God,
~Allie

EDIT: It's finished. I'm going to enter in the Fine Arts Festival. It looks really cool.
I like the style, I may try it again.

Chemistry Sketch Dump (Wednesday)

Because we don't actually take notes in our books.
I love my Chem class, the teacher rocks and (most of) the people who sit around me are smart.
Sorry they're all different colors, tried to get the lines as clear as possible with my scans.
First is a harpy (ignore bad anatomy), next is a sketch I'm currently working on of an elf warrior with a spear, next is another elf warrior (ignore badly done sword), and the last is the mutant unicorn thing I mentioned.
So, this would be my first sketch dump.
It's nicer than most of the work I usually post...
-.-
Yes, so.
Soon enough I'll get around to posting the pony fan art I've been wanting to do.
Started working on the characters, I think Rainbow Dash will be the first one, she should be pretty straightforward.
Still, may be a while before I devote time to anything.
Until then,
Go with God,
~Allie

Project Updates (Monday)

Well, let's start with #2, because I've done little to no work on that one since last time.
---
I've worked on Maria's pose a bit, made the legs a bit longer, and have to fix the back leg because it's not in the right position (again).
Also sketched some of the planetoids from the Mario Galaxy levels in the sky behind her.
From memory, though, so I'll likely have to go back and fix them.
Honestly, I may have to start over on this one, because I want more background details and I really didn't leave room for them.
(The Dry Bones and Tweester feel neglected.)
May have to play those levels again to get a more accurate idea of what I'm drawing.
---
Now for #1
---
I've added the gulls, and just now sketched a sailboat that I'm going to copy in there.
I've already inked the girl in, but I need to get a solid reference for the cat's legs, they look a tad off.
Besides that, I've got markers for the ocean, and hopefully I won't have to go and get a new blue for the sky. (I'm running out of room in my box!)
Still thinking about what colors she should be wearing. My original thought was based off a peahen, brown for the dress with blue/green details, but that might make her blend into the background. Hopefully the weighted lines might make her stand out a bit more.
So, yes, inking is started, cat needs fixing, and colors are still being decided/collected.
---
In other news, been thinking about getting an air spray kit for the markers.
This'll let me get away with coloring things without putting an actual background! I hope.
Last time I saw, there was a little (cute) one on clearance, but I'm not sure if it's been sold. If it's there next time I go for markers, I'll likely get it.
Go with God!

What's Better Than 1 Project? (Wednesday)

TWO Projects!
...
Yeah, I'm pretty stupid.
...
Well, I took Jenna's advice and went with the ocean background on the first one.
All I need to do is draw in a sailboat and some seagulls and I'll be set to start inking.
-
In the meantime, I started this one.
Figured that I needed to draw Maria again, she needs the love.
So this is supposed to be one of the desert levels. I wanted to go for one of the round, planetoid Mario Galaxy levels, but I figured doing one of it's desert levels would be better recognized by the other Mario fans.
I'm going to add a Dry Bones in the background and maybe one of those tornados for interest.
...
I feel kind of sorry for Maria, I bring her back just to have her chased down by a Bullet Bill.
I'm going to have to fix her pose. A LOT.
This is why I get a ton of references off the internet for these kinds of things.
...
Ah, well.
I'll try to get inking the first one as soon as I can, tomorrow's looking to be an exciting day, I'll let you know after the fact, because I'm quite nervous that it won't actually happen.
Enjoy!
Go with God,
~Allie

P.S. Forgot to mention, the scanner completely butchered this. It doesn't like me nowadays. It cut off some of the left side of the picture, just so you know.

Project (Sunday)

I think my cat's planning to get out the window.
Not that she ever gets far, but still, getting a bit paranoid.
...
Oh, yeah. Picture.
Started this yesterday... or the day before...
It's a bit rough, but I'm happy with how the foreground is looking.
There is no background as of now.
I'm thinking a city-scape would make for a good skyline, but I'm also thinking it would be overly difficult to color for the time of day I want to do.
Any ideas?
Suburban area maybe?
Links and pictures are accepted as suggestions....
Want to start inking this soon!
Anyways, I do plan on making this full color, going to try to do most of the flats with marker and texture/shade with pencils.
Should probably practice on something else before I attack this one...
Anyways,
Go with God,
~Allie

P.S. THIS. Look at it. I lol'd

Updates (Friday)

There's really not much to update.
I did a few unworthy-to-be-uploaded sketches, been either in class or at a football game, and have been applying for colleges.
Need to sign up for one later today, let's see if I remember to do so after theater rehearsal today.
...
My life should really be more interesting.
Hmmm
Thinking about starting a Featured page here.
To encourage me to post feature-worthy stuff. You know, finished work.
...
Yeah.
How often should I update it? Cause I'm thinking once a month should do it (since that's about how often I post).
Haven't drawn any video game based stuff lately... this should not be.
-.-
But I have been developing two characters!
One looks like a blind mutated unicorn, but still.
I like him.
So.
I'll get that feature page up and go see if there's any ideas I have lying around that's worth completing.
Go with God,
~Allie

Jo (Thursday)

It's painfully obvious how devoted I am to this blog.
-.-
Very.
I hardly post for not having anything good enough to post.
At least you don't have to keep looking at my stupid little scribbles and can always look forward to at least half-quality artwork coming your way.
Maybe next year, but still.
Quality above quantity, right?
Of course, you fools ought to demand more from me so I have reason to work.
Shame on you.

So yes, Jo is the dancer.
Although, she's technically a fighter and in the left drawing someone's about to get a magical girly kick to the head.
(For the record, I didn't use any references, so that's why she looks like she's accomplishing something physically impossible. We'll say it's cause she's an elf. Yeah, elf...)
She's slightly psychopathic, but fun to be around none the less.
She can juggle, dance, and summon a sword that's almost as tall as she is and use it well. She also uses fighting knives and hand-to-hand combat.
Her outfit is still in development, but I think the basic structure will remain the same.
Although, The Minstrel's outfit started out something like this.
Jo's The Mistrel's companion, if you didn't guess (cookies if you did).
Anyways, I have to empty the dishwasher.
Go with God,
~Allie
